I'm just wondering if anyone here have any information on what documentation will I need if I wanted to get married in the Philippines. I'm a resident with Philippine passport, me and my boyfriend are planning to get married next year. He works overseas too so we're trying to gather all the information we can get to avoid any hassle. We only have 3 weeks to get the Marriage License and such, but I do know we can get the CENOMAR and the Birth Certificate ahead of time. But aside from those, I have no idea what else needed to be taken care of. Any help would be great, thank you in advance. 🙂

There is the 10 waiting period after applying for the marriage license.  There is also some sort of class to attend.

Contact the local registry in the city where you plan to marry, they will have all the requirements

I am getting married July 5 in the Philippines. It is taking 14 business days to get my marriage approval before we can marry so you need to check where you plan to marry.

If you're planning a church wedding there are additional requirements too like baptismal and confirmation certificates. We did a simple church wedding back in 2012. Yung walang mga abay. Isang ninong and ninang lang plus selected relatives. 😊

What were the requirements if we decided to do it in HK?

We sent in the form a few weeks before we wanted to get married.  You need to send the fee in HK dollars.  A few of the large PI banks can do check in HK.  You need to go in a few days ahead of time to pick up the marriage license. Get married at one of the city's registries.   Cotton Tree Registry is very romantic.   If you get married on friday and go to the consulate on sunday to do the report of marriage.

Here is a site to look at.  https://thenewsavvy.com/countries/hong-kong/guide-getting-married-hong-kong/

Other than the waiting time the whole process is very easy and very easy compared to US Immigration.

Where abouts do you plan to get married? We used a place in Caloocan and they were great! They helped file all the documents and took care of everything! They even have an area at the office for a civil wedding if you are ok with not having the church wedding! You need to go to pre-marriage session which was at the City Hall but it was only for a couple of hours! I'm sure you know already and will have family and friends there with you but make sure there are at least 2 people who can sign the papers as witnesses. If you need any other help or advice let me know and will see what I can do :) Good luck!

My fiancé  lives in Bacolod, hence we"re planning to do it there. Just trying to avoid all the hassle so we'll have his family get all the documents we needed. Btw do you know if they can get my Birth Certificate and CENOMAR even though im not gonna be able to pick it up personally?

Which one you think I should do first? We'll have his family get the Birth Certificates and the CENOMAR ahead of time and i'm not sure what else we can do while we're still overseas that will help.

Hi Shinnie yes they should be able to do that. My wifes sister got hers as we were out of the country too. Might be worth writing an authorization letter for them to take just to be sure but should be no problems. Also get them to check for the expidited options otherwise you can be waiting weeks for the documents to be released. If you search on google someone posted a step by step guide to get it in the shortest time possible. Hope this helps :)
