Is there a possibility that the consulate emailed you with further updates/instructions and it went to your junk folder? Just trying to think of possible scenarios.....especially after them holding onto your passports.

That is impossible, it's been 7 months and counting. They could have at least called. I know that most feedback to applicants here come in the form of phone calls.

I understand the frustration. I was only thinking of possible scenarios of an email being sent but ending up in your junk mail folder.....junk mail get automatically deleted after 30 days of receipt.....so it is possible.

In any event, this link may be able to help you: https://www.usa.gov/travel-complaint#item-34807

Best of luck!

Okay no one has asked what Visa type are you trying to come to US on? You said whole family yet you are sending to all kinds of emails.

Is this a Diversity Lottery Visa?

If you haven't gotten a response I believe because you are contacting the wrong email.

So again what type Visa was interview for? Who all was part of interview and expecting to immigrate or is this tourist? Need more infor sorry.

It would also be helpful to you to complete your profile so your country flag shows that way your answer can be in the Ghanaian portal and you may get more exact specific answers.

If your read my message you would have clearly seen that my case is a DV case and I have more details in there about my country. I tried completing my profile but I did not get the opportunity to select Ghana as country for some reason.

@totobioWow, 7 months is a long time (and you are not even in AP; I'm guessing). Sorry you are going through this. The USEM in Accra is one of the craziest embassies to work with. What does your visa status say when you track it in CEAC? or at DHL?

At this rate I think its safe to say that, the u.s. consulate in Accra has no respect for locals, period. I have used all those emails, none of them atracts any form of response or whatsoever.

This is common knowledge. They treat Accra applicants like cattle in PETA blacklisted country. It's been like this since I can remember, at least since the mid 90's. Sometimes you wonder if this kind of stonewalling strategy is just to run out your time for the DV lottery. I know they can be deluged with calls, visitors, emails etc, however that's why they charge a visa fee. All the best.

Thanks, my status has always shown READY after my interview. I have had only two date updates on that status (no status change), Dec 14 2018 and April 7, 2019. I have been to DHL severally, they have no record of the delivery of my passport.

Sure. I agree with you that the stonewalling is probably their strategy to get you out of time and clearly some have experienced that as I have catalogued in a screenshot on page 2. But for how long should this be going on? I intend to petition the consular general through regular mail, the ministry of foreign affairs here whilst there is still some few months to go. They can keep their visa if that pisses them off but am willing to fight for something, at least a little change.

Go see how people are standing in the rain and on the sun just to check in to have an interview at a consulate? We deserve better than this.

Hmm. Unfortunately, I suspect your passports are still at the USEM since status doesn't say issued. You somehow have to get into the embassy physically and have a face to face conversation with someone. Sending your a DM.

My wife and I had an issue with not being sent a case number after  doing a direct consular filing. Anyways, we were able to get her into the Embassy on a Monday afternoon after all the other visa appointments. I think getting in depends on how helpful the people outside are willing to be. Definitely bring your other appointment paperwork and explain politely to the people outside. I was a US citizen there with my wife, so we probably got different treatment than you will. We eventually did also receive an emailed answer to our question from the IVAccra@state.gov address, but it took them 3 weeks.

Thanks for the feedback. I see a lot of people with citizenship status just walk in with no problem. I will still try and see if I can get some feedback.
