confused: date of marriage -- is it the actual date or the date we registered (merged threads)

Timeline

Why is your marriage date and registration date different. The day you registered it with your government should refer to the day you actually got married. The legal document should include your actual date of marriage. So go with that date

Here is what's written on Marriage Certificate.

This is to certify that <my name> and <my spouse's name>have furnished the particulars in Memorandum declaring that their Marriage has been solemnized on <date of traditional marriage> at <location of traditional marriage>and that same has been registered on <date forregistration>

I was married in church in May then my husband traveled back to us then he back and we went to registration the marriage so Iam confused now cuz I have two deference date in my marriage certificate witch is registration date and marriage date so what should put in my petition? Thanks so much hope someone was deal with the same situation and assist me god bless u

I have confusing questions?!!! I was get married in church in May then my husband traveled back to us and we didn’t register our marriage at this time so after 6 month he traveled back to me and  we registered our marriage so now my marriage certificate have two deference date the registration date and marriage date so which date I should used ?!!!cuz some people said registration and some said the marriage date can u help me pls

Since the date of marriage is written on the certificate, you should use that.

I don’t know was asking two lawyer one for them said the marriage date and one said the registration date since it’s the legal date so Iam  searching for anyone was have situation like me hope found someone

August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
