Depends on the embassy, you should check the forums specifically for Ghana to see if anyone else had this issue. I can speak on what happened to my fiancee in Thailand at the embassy. Thai passports are only good for 5 year intervals unlike the US is good for 10. She had mentioned travel on the I129F going back close to 15 years. She had her current passport, and her previous one, but had lost her oldest passport showing a trip and or stamps entering and exiting south Korea about 10 years ago or so. The checked her current and most recent expired passport and were good with that. they did mention in the interview that normally if you lose a passport, they want to see a police report showing when and where you lost it. They didn't press the issue, and she got approval that day anyway because she had her current and last passport, and they thought that was good enough. So based on this experience, worst case scenario is you may have to get a police report that would show when and where you lost the older passport. This was at the US embassy in Bangkok, so how Ghana looks at lost passports may be different.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

If you mentioned entry and exit to different countries on your I129F form, or are providing a police report from a country you were in for more than 6 months, they may want to see the visa or the entry exit stamps. This is why my fiancee at the time took all her passports to the interview as they can ask for them.

From your embassy's P3 letter it states:

PASSPORTS: Bring your current passport and all former or expired passports. Your current passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of your planned arrival in the U.S. and should reflect your correct name and date of birth. All children, regardless of their age, must obtain their own separate passports.

If you do not have an older passport that is lost then an explanation at the interview may suffice. Most embassies are understanding for lost passports. If you have a police report then bring it along to the interview as evidence.

Then, how are you going to prove entry and exit into other countries that you mentioned on the I129F form, or supplied police certificates for? I'll double check my I129F I did for her, but I know there is a spot listing your other visas and travel to other countries on it, and I know for a fact they checked her current and expired passport because they almost made the mistake of keeping her old passport to put the visa in, but she caught it before she left.

Hello guys I have another question. Do my fiancée need to send me her original documents for my interview or it's just me the beneficiary that needs to provide original documents for the interview, thank you.

You would be better served if you follow the link to others from Ghana that are processing their visa from your country. Many have completed their interview and will share their experiences. Also, review the P3 letter from your country, the link is below.

Average wait time from when embassy receives the application is 6-8 weeks.  Average time to be sent to Ghanaian embassy from NVC is 1 month.  Therefore applicants should expect 3 months from NVC till receiving the P3.  Interview slots are very limited for this embassy, so it is advised for applicants that believe that they are a "strong applicant" to proactively schedule their interview date three months out to secure a date and time.

These are all my learnings thus far through the painstaking  process...…
