We got approved May 6 2019, received approval in mail May 10 2019. Ive read it takes up to six weeks ? Has anyone received notice of NVC receiving their approval from May 2019?

When NVC contacts us is it immediately to pay the visa fees or is it just notice of receiving approval ?

You can see what VJ users report here: https://www.visajourney.com/content/k1historical/

Add up steps 3-5 as I write this, and you get 52 days on average from NOA2 to arrival at embassy/consulate.

My guess is you get an email from NVC on Tuesday June 11th saying they've sent it on to the embassy 😉

Apparently NVC sends the petitions on to embassies every other Tuesday. We had NOA2 on April 29th and got email from NVC on May 28th guessing you'll be in the next batch 🤞 remember to check spam folder 😉

Your answer is correct if they already have a case number which they don't so 6-8 weeks to shipping from NOA2 is the norm.

We didn't get case # until the email ... no information between NOA2 and the email from NVC

OP not sure when you pay the fee I think it differs depending on embassy. For the one in Sweden I paid after I got email from them and was able get in to the website and an appointment.

I've been looking at the stats and it seems that they are using the total data-set average and no filtering.  This skews the results.  The reason I say this is because the user submitted data that are the outliers (taking over 200-300 days) drastically skew the results.

Some of the steps don't have much variance (like time to mail), but anything from USCIS, DoS or the consulate can vary widely, and dramatically skew the times.

When using averages say you have 10 filers, and these are the times to go from NOA1 to NAO2:

500,210,180,120,115,110,112,100,90,80  The average is 161.7.  NOT THE AVERAGE.  Most people are waiting approx 115 days.  Butbecause the outlier 500 and 210 skew the results by almost 30%

So it would be great if the stats page added the 'massaged' stats the remove the outliers, and give a much more accurate overview of the times.

So it could be sent to an embassy without paying the visa fee first it just varies ?

Visa payments is not a requirement to ship your case. You can pay that at anytime after your status is set to ready at CEAC.

The cases are leaving NVC every other Tuesday. Next batch is leaving 6/11 and 12. How do we know, because we have followed this trend for 8 months now and NVC hasn't change their SOP. This does not include electronic cases or isolated cases but the majority of cases are following this pattern.

Find the June 2019 K1 NOA2 to NVC thread and download the pdf file from the first page of that thread first post. Details are there to help with these questions and to provide answers.
