So today is a great day my fiancee visa was approved today. I don’t know where I read this but after your interview the CEAC status changes from immigrant to non-immingrant.

Is this happen automatic or should I manually use the other option?

Is the case number is still the number to be used for tracking purpuses or the DS160 confirmation number?

Thanks!

On the immigrant tracker you always use the NVC assigned number.   On the nonimmigrant tracker you use the DS160 number

I preferred using the DS160 number on non-immigrant tracker. It's faster than the other one.

Really, well that’s good to know. She told me that she was handed a paper stating that her visa was approved and they kept her passport. I was just wondering what was the best way. Thanks again!😉

You're welcome and congratulations! My interview was on 5/30, status changed from Ready to AP on 6/1. I had to travel where internet is a hit or a miss for 2 days but when I checked on 6/4, my status changed to non-immigrant ISSUED. From what I read per other people's experiences, that is a good sign. I didn't see any movement yesterday, 6/5 since it's a holiday in the Philippines so I will try again later today.

In the interim, I am doing advance reading on what to do after POE like getting SSN as soon as arrival etc. Just sharing my best practice, aside from bookmarking and creating different folders on my browser, I also save stuff as a draft on my email for me to easily cross reference each.

Hope this helps and God bless you both!

Sincerely,

VIP_L

*** I just copy pasted the below comments from other members:

"We appiled for the green card, I-485 Adjustment of Status on Nov 14.

We also filed forms I-765, Employment Authorization Document and I-131 Advance Parole (Travel Document) at the same time. There is no additional fee if you file them with the I-485. She received a combo card, EAD and Travel, on Feb 24."

So if you file the I-485 together with I-765 it won't be extra? So it will just be 1,225 including biometric?

Correct."

Also file the I-131, even if you don't plan travel. It is good to have in case of an emergency.

***SSN application:

The 2nd business day she arrives, print out I-94 record yourself, then apply for SSN. Check the box on the form there "Alien, allowed to work" What state will you be applying for ID in?  You will need SSN.

basically after interview, assuming no 221gs or other requests for more forms/information, your case should go to, in order

  1. Immigrant Administrative Processing
  2. Non-immigrant Application Received
  3. Non-immigrant Administrative Processing
  4. Issued

The status may or many not be updated online for each stage, and it's possible to go through multiple steps in less than a day at times, or be stuck on one of the first three steps for days or longer. You don't have to do anything to change this.

If it's after your interview and searching under immigrant for your case by the case number you got from NVC is really slow or doesn't work, your case has probably moved from immigrant to non-immigrant. In that case, searching under non-immigrant using the DS160 confirmation should be faster and more reliable.

Hmm this sounds like it depends on the embassy and worker. Thank you for your input.

No 221g given after interview but Im stuck at non-immigrant AP for 5 days now😭 does anyone have experience with this?

Embassy was closed on Wednesday due to the Eid'l Fitr holiday so I guess they have a higher volume of workload yesterday and today. If after 10 days( i guess this is business days) or 2 weeks I haven't seen any updates on my visa, I will contact them.

Per CEAC:

"If you have not received your passport in more than 10 days after your interview, please contact the Embassy call center at (02) 982-5555 and (02) 902-8930, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, to track the delivery of your passport.

For more information, please visit U.S. Embassy Manila. "

What did they advise you at the interview? Have you circled back to the P3. Did you attempt to ask someone from your country's subforum? Mmmm or did Google offer an answer?

I checked your P3 and it clearly states what to do.
