@HRQX is right. I live in Sacramento and I didn’t have ssn when we got married.

did you get married downtown or fair oaks? 

 

did you go to the court along with your marriage license application on the date of your wedding? or we should apply marriage license on different date?

I got married in Fair Oaks. At the county clerk.  We applied marriage license like two weeks before we got married.  Not sure what the rule is with regards to applying marriage license and getting married the same day since we didn’t really inquire.  If you have plans to change your name you are advices to do it now instead of after marriage coz it would cost you a lot of money.  You guys also need one witness and I think they can provide you one if you don’t have anyone (not sure abt this, so double check).  

 

Where red we got married, we got our marriage certificate after the ceremony,  they would also ask you how many certified copies you need.  It cost 15 bucks a piece.

The beneficiary will be the I-485 applicant.
