So here's some details I found with my application that aren't found on the flow chart.

My I-129f was approved in early April (9 APR).  i got the I-797 that it was approved in the mail and that it was being sent to the NVC.  After 3 weeks (1 May), my application was initially processed by the NVC and assigned a Case ID #.  I just happened to call on 2 May to the NVC and they were able to give me the Case ID # over the phone.  When you call the NVC, you may be get recorded message and then it hangs up on you.  If it does, you need to just keep calling again until you get into the phone call que.  Once you get the Case ID #, you can go to here: ac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV and check the status.  So your USCIS case # started with WAC.  At NVC you get assigned a Case ID # based on the country of your fiance.  My fiance lives in Ho Chi Minh so her Case ID # was HCM2019YYYXXX. So HCM is a 3 letter code for the consulate (HCM = Ho Chi Minh City).  YYY is the Julian date your application was first processed by the NVC plus 500.   the XXX is the # of cases that day it was processed.  Her case was first processed on 1 May.  On 14 May is was electronically sent to the HCM Consulate.  On 15 May it was received by the HCM Consulate and changed to a ready status.  So when it is in a ready status, it will say Case Created: and Case Last Updated.  My case last updated initially said 14 May when it was electronically sent to HCM.  It changed to 23 May when HCM Consulate sent the instruction letter to my Fiance which she received in the mail on 25 May.

After that, I think it varies from country to country.  This morning she mailed in her DS-160, 2 visa photos, and copy of her passport to the HCM Consulate.  Instructions said to wait 5 business days then I can schedule her interview online.  So for Vietnam at least, there were 2 websites.  The first was the DS-160 website where we filed the DS-160.  The second website was specific to HCM, and where we generated the receipt # to pay her Visa fee.

And that's pretty much where we are at.

The K1 Visa flowchart is a general guide and obviously cannot go into the same detail on a general guide. That is why there are specific info sheets for the interviewing embassies/consulates, https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/. Each interviewing embassy/consulate have their own particular steps and requirements, likely due to local interests. So, it would be safe to say that the requirements and steps are likely different from Vietnam to the Dominican Republic. That being said, I am wondering if the time line shown in the Flowchart is reflective of current processing times?

A big part of how this site works is for members to write reviews of their experiences and post them in the correct area, https://www.visajourney.com/reviews/ , and it benefits everyone when members fill in their timelines. :time: It helps provide relevance to the VJ stats. Be sure to post your review HCM consulate. It is known to be a tough consulate, the more information for members is quite helpful for the VJ community.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

We just got approved for I29-F. Not sure what the next step is? On the flow chart, it said we can call NVC to see if they've received our approved I29-F. I just went on their website it says "Phone (for nonimmigrant visa inquiries only)Temporarily Suspended" because of the coronavirus. And we checked if we can email them and it said "the NVC is unable to respond to nonimmigrant visa inquiries by email or fax" . We're really unsure how to check if they received it or not? Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks so much.
