How long should I wait to call NVC???

@Indira/Charlys I received my confirmation today via e-mail from NVC. So my case took 5 weeks from my NOA2 date to my ship date from NVC to the Philippines.

From my personal experience, my I-129F was approved on 12 APR.  The NVC received it on 1 May.  I happened to call 2 May and they gave me the new Case ID #.  They sent the case file to the Ho Chi Minh City consulate on 15 May.  Then it took the HCM consulate until 23 May to mail the instruction letter to my fiance in Ho Chi Minh City.

Yes.  According to the instructions for the HMC consulate you must wait and receive the instructions.  Once you receive the instructions you mail in the DS160, 2 visa photos, and passport copy.  You must wait 5 business days after mailing in that stuff for them to process it.  Then you can schedule the interview online.

Each embassy is different so I recommend that you connect with your country's sub-forum here on VJ for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Colombia and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

Get the US Embassy Colombian K-1 Packet 3 (P3) at  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7hB3bl9Snfkb0NiMVFUd2JsVjA/view  as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the P3 as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

 

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for your country so that you are up to speed.

Ppl doing their vaccinations in Columbia can do them with anyone not connected to the approved medical center where  your exam will take place saving you a lot of money. Be sure to get a receipt that states every single vaccination that you received. See list below that are required vaccinations. Then during your medical present the receipt for the vaccinations to the Doctor and ask that they be transposed to the DS-3025 and marked COMPLETE! Very important that they are marked complete. You will use this document once you are married and filing your AOS package.

I have never seen a request like this one but I  believe you maybe ahead of NVC and they have no record of your case because your NOA2 and case have yet to arrive. If you have a NOA2 then make a copy and return it along with NVC notice of request for  the I-797. Also, ask to have your information be updated. 

 

I don't see where you should worry.

All i did was follow the instructions from the pdf given here regarding updating email with NVC, and that was 3 weeks ago! I yesterday I received this notice from NVC! But I will scan the 797 and email it to them!

My advise at this point is to start calling USCIS. If NVC doesn't have your record, it means USCIS does. You can and should submit scan of the approved NOA2 to NVC like they ask but do not wait for response it will take weeks, and chances are it will be something like "We found it! USCIS still has it, call them at this number, NVC out, have a nice day!" So call USCIS, ask for Tier 2, and see if you can figure out what is happening with your approved petition.

@Indira/Charlys is just too early for NVC to have any knowledge of his approved case from USCIS. NVC usually doesn't find out until such time as his record shows up at NVC. So when NVC access's their system it shows a non receipt which generates the pat answer he received. My opinion is that it is not lost but just hasn't showed up on NVC's radar yet.

 

Updating email should be done around the time NVC gets his record. This email step works for some but sometimes not for others.

So this morning I arrived to work and I emailed the I-797  to NVC as they had resquested....hopefully thiis week i get great news... my only wish is to have my dad walk me down the isle before he departs from this world..... time is ticking!!! we are on the 4th week since we received NOA2
