Hello!  I feel like everything has been pretty simple up until now and I am stressing!  We got the NVC email today that they approved and sent the petition to the embassy.  We completed the DS160 online.  What do we do now??

:time: It can depend on what country the beneficiary is from. Each country works a bit differently.

This is for the I-129f petition (for the K-1 visa) correct? If no, NVC doesn't approve anything, they simply assign a case number and forward it on to the embassy. USCIS is the one who approves the petition. The embassy then will determine if they will approve the actual K-1 visa.

Yes, sorry.  The k1.  I misspoke, they assigned it and forwarded it.

No worries, it's just keeping proper terminology and all in the process is essential for the best answers.

Depending on what embassy you're going to go through, once you assign yourself that in your profile information, the "Portals" tab up above will take you to that country specific forum. There you can browse country specific threads and see other members dealing with that embassy. That is where you will find best information.

Since you have your case#, wait a few days & contact the embassy through email.  Provide your beneficiary's full name, your name, & case#.  Tell them you have been approved & was asking for further instructions.  You will need your confirmation page from DS-160 to pay the visa fee.  In our case, we received the bank account info from the embassy to pay the visa fee with further instructions.

Here is the general K1 Visa Flow Chart for your review (assuming this is for K1 Visa): https://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

As others have mentioned, to give specific advice requires you to :time: to allow others to give you a good focused response. Interviewing embassies/consulates often can and do tweek their visa requirements/instructions to meet their needs.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

That is a pat answer that everyone gets. There are shipments every other T/WD to the embassies. Also, like @DaveAndAnastasia stated some go via electronic.

You May want to join us in the following like where we are discussing what happens at the NOA2 to NVC stage. Be sure to down load the latest copy of tips and things to do to prepare for your interview.
