EAD today changed status to Fingerprint review completed. Both AOS and EAD now say they are being worked "at our local office", I wonder if that means is being reviewed here in oklahoma or california center.

So exciting! :)

I don't know how it works in Oklahoma.  But, I know that our USCIS Orlando office says on the USCIS website that cases can be handled by other field offices to speed up the process with the exception of the biometrics (or so it says/translates into).  So, who knows! :)

I was reading about it and it looks like our case is being handled by the Missouri center. Our receipt numbers start with MSC which just found out is the Missouri Service Center. I had completely forgotten that the letters usually indicate the location of the office hehe.

Yeap, that is true!  Hey, as long as it is being worked on! :)

That is where all AOS start im the National Benefit Center (NBC) is Missouri (MSC) then after the case is ready for interview they will transfer your case to the local office. I got that today from my USCIS call

Ah gotcha. Do you know by any chance if most of the AOS wait happens in between biometrics and ready to schedule for interview? Or does the wait really begin once is transferred to the local office?

The most wait is between ‘Ready to scheduled’ to ‘Interview scheduled’. That can take months or even a year. The biometrics part is the easiest one. In the middle of that the EAD should arrive

Interesting. As of now I have my hopes up just because the cases in Oklahoma City have been as quick as 3 months wait from the minute AOS is filed. That's coming from statistics on this website though. Then you have USCIS that says minimum wait is 8 months so I don't know what to trust really haha.

Let's all hope we all get there sooner rather than later :D

Yes I hear you. I read about a guy that got his GC after 3 months in the Queens office in NYC. You never know

You guys may or may not know this information.  But, I figured I would start here and if not ask the general forum.  So, once the GC is approved and we receive it, it is good for two years but we must submit the necessary forms at least 90 days prior to the expiration of the 2-yr GC to get the 10-yr GC.  Correct?  Could we do it sooner?  How soon could we start it?

Now, once we have the 10-yr GC (from what I read) you could apply for citizenship within 5 years and not wait the 10.  Is this correct?  Could we do it sooner?

Correct. The GC that we are applying now Is only valid for 2 years. Around 6 months prior to it's expiration USCiS will inform you that your exp date is approaching to begin gathering the paperwork necessary for the permanent one. I assume you would file everything before expiration date but not sure how soon. It's probably detailed in their website somewhere.

I believe your path to citizenship begins the minute your temp gc is approved. The clock does not reset when you get your permanent one.

The 10 year green card is the permanent green card that you have to validate every 10 years. Just like the passport is valid for so many years but it's your permanent passport .

Thank you. So, if the clock does not reset, does that mean that after the 2yr GC and 3 years of permanent GC (total of 5) one can apply for citizenship? Or are the 5 years only for the permanent GC?

My understanding is that is 2 years (temp GC) + 3 years (Perm GC)

Update from us. We got a RFE for initial evidence.

They are asking for my Birth Certificate+Translation. We think they lost the one we sent because we have proof we sent it the first time.

It also says what the BC must have and mine has all of it.

Luckily is a easy fix
