Is it possible to schedule the interview before your status says ready on ceac? Our case is still at NVC. We have already completed the DS160. And was planning to pay visa fee tomorrow.

Do you have the MNL#? You will need it I think when scheduling your interview appointment.

As for the DS160 payment, I paid using BPI online before I got my MNL#. I didn't had any issues.

And I know that interviews in Manila are about a month out. I just don’t want to have to wait too long. But I also don’t want any issues with the embassy if I’m not supposed to book an interview before it arrives at the embassy

You can pay the fee anytime as long as you have the case #.

There is NO DS160 fee. I don't know why people say there is.

There have been sporadic reports of the embassy cancelling interviews for those who have booked an appointment before ready status.   There have also been sporadic reports of people being successful.  Be guided accordingly.

Thank you guys. And I know there isn’t a ds fee. I meant the fee for the visa.

There is no fee when filling out the ds160 form. The fee is for the VISA fee that you have to pay to schedule your medical exam and interview appointment. If you have filled out the ds160 form you can now pay in BPI.. After you pay you can now schedule your interview and go to SLEC. I suggest that  do your medical first at st.lukes before scheduling your interview (only if you have doubt about your health, but if you think youre good then schedule the interview) because the earliest date for k1 visa interview is March 27, the next is May. And you can only cancel a schedule for 3 times, the third time you have to pay again.

Hope this helps!

You could .. but the embassy frowns upon it .. and they have given others "issues" for scheduling before READY status on CEAC

If you don't want issues with the embassy .. wait for READY status ..  ;)

It is noted on the CEAC (?) site but that is in regards to NON-immigrant visas  not the K-1
