I’ve been in the US for a month, I haven’t received any social or green card in the mail. How long does it take to get both social and green card?  Thank you.

I did pay before I traveled.

Well, a month is not out of normal processing time. Some people received the GC 1or 2 weeks after entering and some people received it 6-8 weeks after entering. As far as the SSN, the people at my local SSA office told me once that it is extremely rare to have it issued for immigrant within 4 weeks. Usually it takes more than 4 weeks to have all the information transferred over from immigration to SSA.

Normal processing time for green card is 120 days. You can visit the social security office in your area and find out what's going on with the ss card.

That said, start calling them. There have cases where the SSA wasn’t able to verify information (a mismatched letter in the name, mismatched order of last name/ middle name/ first name) and they won’t issue, have to go through a munual verification process which could take longer. So you want to catch that

Ok. I wish I was lucky like those who received theirs in two to three weeks.

Your visa in your passport serves as a greencard and is valid for one year.
