anyway like you said Malaysia refusal rate is really low, below 4%, your relatives will be fine as long as they have something to show ties home.

retirees might have a hard time showing that.

If they can’t show a home and income at home, then I don’t see how a letter from someone in the US offering to pay for stuff for them is a good thing rather than a bad thing...  could be one of those cases where it ends up showing more ties to the US than home. Your wife is a usc, right?

how can one show home ownership? does one need to bring anything (title deeds etc?)

Hey Album, I’m from Malaysia and I have applied for tourist visa before. I didn’t have an invitation letter, but I did bring bank statements and pay slips for proof of employment. And because my passport is full of stamps from various countries, they know I’m not a risk. Low refusal rate for Malaysia means your parents will have a high success rate for obtaining the visa.

i am hoping for that too though i personally had the experience of being denied the tourist visa so not a fun experience.

We had a few people young and old want to come to the USA for a graduation.  

 

The OLDS were all approved which was no shock, but the young one ages around 24'ish the youngs were approved with a letter stating why they needed to go, and graduation dates and a letter of responsibility written by a US citizen.  The ones whom didn't get the letters were not approved.  That is what I saw.

the mother won't be working the whole time we are here in the country.

i've been curious of what retirees were required to show, graduations/commencement might be the only popular yearly event where old people would be willing to travel to the USA, but for sightseeing, not sure.

 

i guess I will see if it will go smoothly for us.
