Hello everyone, today I had my interview and the visa officer told me that she is going to issue me a visa and I'm gonna get my passport within one-two weeks time , now when I check my status it says administrative processing.

Is it normal for every approved visa that they go in administrative processing first , even when they don't ask you to submit additional information ?

Everyone, everyone goes through AP.

For some it lasts 2-3 days, some 2-3 weeks, some 2-3 months, some even 1+ years. Have been people on here at the 18-20 months waiting time for AP. It's open ended and only complete when the embassy finishes their stuff.

Everyone goes into AP briefly while processing.   You should have it in one to two weeks.

Congrats.

Yes, even with a verbal approval it can get held up depending on how the AP goes, or what they find let's say in their checks. It may get issued within a few days, or the two week time frame, or get held up longer. No one can say for sure, it's just another time to be patient as it's another part of the process.

Main thing to know is it's just a normal step in the process, nothing out of the ordinary though.

It is VERY VERY rare that the CO will ever say anything (including approval/denial) and today is the first time I've heard of a case where the CO gave a timeline.  There is another case that said the same thing.  In my experience the CO knows that AP is going to happen and generally the passport with visa is delivered 10 days after AP approval but for the CO to mention anything about time is rare.  What embassy are you at?

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.
