Current Advance Parole processing times

Hi there,

I moved to the US (Phoenix, Arizona) in October 2018 on a K1 Visa and just received my NOA1's for my AOS application.

I was wondering if anyone, who recently got their Advance Parole application approved, could tell me how long it took them. I've of course looked around VisaJourney and some profiles are saying 4-5 months or more and yet some got their Green Cards super quickly and didn't even need the Advance Parole (or Employment Authorization) which is confusing.

The average processing time here on VisaJourney says about 135 days right now, but I'm confused since there seem to be such huge differences in processing times. It's estimated I'll get it approved early/mid May (if nothing goes wrong), and I will need to travel to my home country in mid June - can I trust that it'll be approved in time for this?

Thank you in advance!

Sincerely,

Nadia

It depends on the local office. Some are quick some are extremely slow, Houston is one of them. You need to check the timeline on the USCIS website rather than relying on the information collected on this forum. Many members never update their timeline.

For AP and EAD, it should take 4-6 months. Be ready to wait for at least 4 months because I haven't seen any cases getting EAD/AP in less than 4 months without expedition.

Thanks! I really hope I get it in time.

How do I know what service center it'll be processed at? I sent it to Chicago but live in Phoenix, AZ so which office would it actually get processed at? And how can I expedite it?

My first EAD/AP I received in just over three months (that was in October 2017). I'm currently waiting for my renewal (card expired in October) and it's already been 4.5 months.

I expedited my EAD after 6 months of waiting and got it approved in ONE day because it was outside normal processing time but didnt get my AP yet. Called USICS today and the officer told me it wont be a combo card. So still waiting for my AP. 6 months and counting now.

Dang that is so weird. They prolly want to make sure you’re “parolable”. :D
