Nashville (BNA) port of entry

Hi all,

Does anyone know if a K1 visa can be processed upon landing at BNA? There is a direct flight straight from Heathrow to Nashville, and I just wanted to check the K1 would be able to be processed there, as last time when I landed there I just walked straight out without any form of border control, as I cleared it in Canada (Toronto Pearson).

Thanks!

Not possible. You have to do customs clearance somewhere before Nashville.  @Shan&Luke are you sure the flight does not have pre-clearance or POE before you land in the US? I used Nashville not even 6 months ago and they only have TSA agents to enter it, not when you land. POE has to be done before you get to BNA

@Paul & Mary is correct. OP's future flight comes from a regular international airport (NOT a pre-clearance one); BNA has CBP agents for these flights. For flights that come from pre-clearance airports there is no CBP since its considered domestic.

A post from 9 months ago that states there was CBP at BNA when coming from a regular international airport (Cancun): https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south/1899285-immigrations-customs-bna-nashville.html

Thanks for the link....i have not seen them, but the flight i took was from Toronto (1st time) and the last time came domestic from Newark. I do know they are expanding the airport, but it must have change the way the corridor is for international flight or other gates.

Yes there is no preclearance at London.  Most Canadian airports have preclearance.

https://www.cbp.gov/border-security/ports-entry/operations/preclearance

If the OP is connecting at BNA try to get a connecting flight 3 to 4 hours after scheduled arrival.  You might have to call the airline to make the reservation.  Technically  a connection can be up to 24 hours.

Toronto has preclearance so you enter as a domestic flight in Nashville.  But an international flight would go through CBP if coming from a normal international airport.
