Car Seats in the Philippines or US?

Good afternoon, my fiancé and I will be bringing our infant daughter back to the US once her K1 visa is approved and the baby's citizenship (US) is approved. Was anyone in here able to find a car seat for when you land in the US or did you purchase a car seat before leaving and have it ready when you returned to the US? What solutions are there since car seats are required here in the United States?

I purchased ours prior to son's arrival, then I had no concerns of it being an inferior copy

Either buy one before you leave and leave the car in long term parking or rent a car with a car seat.

Oh and if you fly back on Cathay Pacific they have bassinets in the front row of economy.  Makes the trip a bit more manageable.  You have to request them when you make a reservation.  The seats are usually blocked out on international flights  but they are there if you call in.

Just so you are aware. Carseat from out of the US are not legal inside the US. They may not be inferior, but they are not  designed for the temperature changes, other environmental changes. There are other safety features that are not on seats form some other countries.  

 

 If cost is an issue Costco and Walmart offer very cost effective seats that will meet the requirements.

I have never seen a child in car seat in the Philippines

 

I have seen infants riding on the handles of motorcycles and stuffed in between 4 or 6 people on a motorbike, a truly amazing site to see

Same here as well. Also I really would not trust a car seat found in the Philippines here in the USA at all.

This is what I did when I brought my 1 year old daughter from the Philippines to the US for a visit in 2016.  I went to SM and bought the cheapest car seat I could find, then after we landed in the US and I got my rental car,  I headed straight to Walmart and bought a car seat and just dumped the one I bought in the Philippines in the dumpster.
