Ability to self-schedule Infopass appointments going away in 2019

Noticed this today after someone pointed it out on reddit:

Basically, the ability we all have today to make an Infopass appointment at our local field office about immigration-related issues is going to be removed in 2019. It's already happened or will happen shortly at some field offices, such as Detroit, LA, Newark, and San Francisco. Eventually this will roll out to all USCIS field offices by the end of FY 2019 (which would be no later than 30th September, 2019).

Instead, the USCIS misinformation line will now be the sole arbiter of whether your situation qualifies for in-person assistance, and you will only be able to make an appointment through them on the phone.

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere. It seems to be one of those changes the administration isn't talking about a whole lot.

I wonder how folks will get an I551 stamp when necessary.  Back when my wife needed her’s we did a walk-in Infopass and she was able to get the stamp.  I tried asking Emma from the myUSCIS site, but that did not work.
