Some administrative processing is normal for all cases. They need time to issue and print the visa.

What did the CO say at the interview? Were you given the Aramex instructions to pick up the visa? Did they ask you to submit a form called DS-5535?

If you are going through the visa process and will be interviewing in Casablanca, Morocco, join us over at the

If they kept the passport, that is favorable.  Administrative Processing could be a few hours, days, weeks, or months.....Hopefully, you will see "issued" soon.

with Casablanca known to be a hard embassy, you have good chance since they kept the passport, however it is also very transparent.

all cases go through normal AP, and many are resolved within 60-90 days of 1. the interview, and 2. if they asked for more papers, I know if your case they didn't need additional papers, so just be patient all will work out.

if there has been no update after 60 days you can send an email to the embassy to check the status.

my husband had no other papers needed I know different country, but they handed back his passport back to him, called at day 48 to send it to the embassy, when it was all said and done at day 59 and he had his passport back in his hand

this happened to another but 221g was marked in administration review

said he would be contacted in 2 weeks

he received an email for the dreaded ds5535 but he was told approved at the same time and was given "welcome to the us letter: and they didn't keep his passport!!!

kept your passport

did they give u welcome to the US letter?

221 g is for additional documents or denial so keeping passport is confusing

almost seems like the new staff members are confused about the proper steps after interview

What city are you from?

It seems your hometown has a lot to do with the outcome of your Visa, unfortunately.

Outcome as in if you have to forego long Ap and receive a Ds- Form.

If you are from Fez, near Fez or from the north or east of Morocco, that s it.

As far as if your Visa is denied, have you received a 221G or 214G?

oh sorry! i think you're talking to another poster :D

@diva00  Incha Allah you'll be fine :)
