Hi guys,

Just looking for some clarity. My case is at NVC and all documents have been accepted and marked as "accepted" on the ceac website. I've received notification that NVC is waiting to schedule the interview. So, my question is at what point will NVC update my case status to complete? Is it considered complete once an interview date is scheduled and then my case is forwarded to the embassy? Basically, a confirmed interview date equals a completed case at NVC stage?? Thanks in advance!

Case complete will happen before your interview is scheduled. Once all the documents have been reviewed and found to be in order, your case will be complete at the NVC and will then move to the next stage of waiting for interview to be scheduled. Only completed cases are put into the interview queue. It can take a few weeks after case complete to be informed of your interview date.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Tevaugh1998  - You can go to the website ceac.state.gov/IV . You'll need both  your case and invoice number. Your case status should be on the site. Also, NVC will send you an email with any updates if they have your email address.

My case isn't updated as complete online, however, we received an email from NVC  stating that they have received everything needed prior to attending  the interview and that they will work with the embassy to schedule an interview date and will let us know once a date is confirmed.

same here. I got all docs accepted few weeks ago but never receive a case complete. what to do in that case

They're usually pretty good with sending emails regarding any updates, if they have your email address. But, you can call them as well if you like: 603-334-0700

How do you check if your case is complete??

Normally, NVC will send you an email stating that you are in the queue for an interview.......all my emails came in the middle of the night.

When your case is complete NVC sends you an email that they have received all the required documents and that you are in a queue. It can take several months before your interview can be scheduled after your case is complete. Mine took 7 months

Question what do they mean at NVC?? I called them today and there are telling me that my documents have been accepted so I just have to wait to get my date to go to the embassy. Why It’s not saying document accepted instead of At NVC??

It means your documents are waiting for review.......if they told you that your case is complete, then you are being placed in a queue for an interview date.

  • 4 months later...

Hello all,

my case documents were submitted and accepted on 3/12/2019. Since then I have not received any email from nvc. I called them last week and they said that “their system didn’t triggered it as Case Complete. I will route them to the supervisor so you can get the CC email”. Did that happened to anyone else? When do NVC usually sends the CC email once docs are accepted?

thanks - this is a great forum honestly.

@Khanman01 this happened to me and my friends as well. I never received a case completion email and had to call them. My first call they said “its under AP”, then i called again after a week, it seems that the right person picked up the phone. He was very helpful and escalated the issue the right supervisor. I received the case completion email in couple of days and a week later the interview date. He mentioned that their system has this glitch and they’ve been working on it to fix it. That was in april btw
