Freaking out! - no verification of me being here on a K1 fiancé visa?!

Thankyou! Im just concerned about leaving all the SSN questions blank on my EAD form... i dont want to tick yes assign me one with EAD just in case the SSN do sort out my application by then.. not sure what to do?? Were sending off AOS next week

Doing well, just playing the waiting game yet again😒 but at least we're finally together now.

 

We did not have that issue. We got lucky with our SS office surprisingly. 

 

I would just go ahead with the normal process and check that you have not been assigned an SSN yet and even if the SS Office sort it out after I wouldn't think you'd been penalized for anything because at the time of filing you had no SSN. I know it's frustrating but at least you're one step closer now and you have Jake!

I always think it's better to deal with the Social Security Administration directly than having USCIS deal with them for your benefit. Nobody cares about you more than YOU.

Yep im soooo happy to not be apart from Jake no more! I dont mind a waiting game just wish SSO wasnt messing me around with answers 😕

I totally agree, im not expecting USCIS to deal with SS for me, i just didnt want to leave the SSN section blank 

 

SS are giving me different answers on my SSN application, so im just going to wait for an answer from them in writing, frustrating!

Update: Still no clear update on my SSN application situation... it will be 7 weeks tomorrow that i applied.

 

The last update i received (12th Dec) was that it still hasn't been verified according to their info on their computers at my local SS office.

 

I received a call at 8:22am on Saturday... when i returned the call it said it was Social Security but number no longer in use?! the number location that came up on my iPhone was the town my local SS office is situated..  just found it weird that it was on a Saturday & so early? no voicemail was left..

 

My 90 days on the I-94 is up in just over 3 weeks (10th Jan 2019) - if i STILL haven't received a SSN by then, will they refuse to issue one if it goes past that date? Or because im in their system with a SSN application, will it continue to be processed..? 

 

Any knowledge would be appreciated.

 

I have never ever gone around in so many circles before, its a total ball ache.

More than likely right now they will not issue you a ssn this close to the end of the 90 day period. Don't worry about it and file for SOS ASAP without a ssn because when you fill out the paperwork for the WAS you can request a ssn to be issued to you.

We’ve already sent off my AOS, EAD, AP packet last week - I ticked the box that i have applied for an SSN & attached a sticky note to say i still havent been issued a number

 

My concern is, if I still dont get a SSN by the time i get EAD, if i go to apply for one with EAD, wont the current application for SSN overlap & cause confusion? 

 

On USCIS SAVE it was verified then sent back to Maryland SSA & it says to contact them for an update - but my local office is still saying they haven’t received my verification

When you have your EAD you can go get a SSN if you don't have one already. That will not cause confusion so dw.
