Hi 😊 My immigration lawyer is saying we need a national i.d. card for my husband to have his visa interview, he's lost his and we would like to know if this is something required for the interview? He has his passport etcetc. I've never seen an id required on any checklist so I'd like to be sure if we need it.

Ok this is not visa related but you should have an ID on you 24/7, so I would get one in any case. It will also be valid for longer than the passport. And they're not that expensive. Especially if your immigration lawyer says so. I feel like he has a lot of knowledge in that field and knows what he's talking about.

Agree with above.  He should have one anyway.

Thank you! His interview is in two weeks which is why I'm asking, cutting it close. He's applied for one, but autocorrect has changed Alexander to Alex on the application. If they do need it would that be a problem.

Typically the government documents say that the names you give them should be the same as they are in your passport. And that way I also feel like it should be in the ID card like that as well. Also an official document, you know? Don't know for sure tho. I just know that the embassy workers are very strict and picky about every little thing.

How are you supposed something that does not exist?

Time for a new Lawyer?

What sort of license?
