My case was received by USCIS early October, 2018 (Nebraska). I did my bio around July, 2019 and didn't hear anything since then. My 18 month extension expired few months back. I am planning to attend college soon and I submitted my application. They sent me an email saying I was admitted and my status show 'checking legal status'. Just last week, I contacted Ombudsman immediately with a print version of the email and they replied within 2 days saying they have reached-out to USCIS. Boy little did I know this would lead to my approval 5 days later! Some 675 days later, I couldn't believe when I see the case tracker app notification "New Card is Being Produced". If Ombudsman contacted USCIS, there is a good chance you will get your approval soon. Cheers!

Awesome. Congrats to you. Did you apply N-400 yet?
I contacted Ombudsman and they replied saying that I have pending i-751 and N-400 so the waiting is longer and still within  processing time frame :(

You should counter that claim. As per USCIS website, they do not combine both cases unless you have specifically filed a  request to adjudicate both cases and both applications are processed independently. Unless you have filed that particular form, your i751 is out of processing time.

Nebraska LIN1990X filer here. I applied for I751 in Nov 2018 and N400 in November 2019. Last update on I751 was on July 29th 2019 after Biometric Appointment. I contacted Ombudsman a few days ago, but never heard back from them. Today I got the notification that “New Card is being produced”. My 18 months extension letter is expiring next week.

Now hoping to get N400 approval soon. Good luck to everyone waiting.

We printed out our photos on regular paper so the size would be the same as the other document. We also wrote some brief descriptions under each photo.

Hi all so my letter has expired from July 4th and my DL expires September I contacted the ombudsman to see if they could follow up on my case since and I wanted to know what’s going on. This was sometime last week. Unfortunately things take a sudden turn and I lost a very close family member and I have to travel ASAP because of the situation. So I contacted USCIS and spoke with a rep who had someone call me back to get an info pass appointment which I was able to get. So now I can atleast get my passport stamped so I can travel and renew my DL for work purposes! Should I cancel the letter I sent to the ombudsman since I will be going in to get my passport stamped or just let it play out?  Ps they were able to give me an appointment date for info pass within days.

my interview was scheduled for I 751. finally. I've been waiting for 16 months. I applied for N 400 but on the notification it only says interview for I751. I don't think I will get an interview for N 400 because I haven't done the fingerprints. what are your thoughts?

thanks in advance.

Combo interview is usually initiated on the N400 side meaning you get a notice for n400 interview and if you have an outstanding i-751 you get a combo not the other way around. When did you submit your N400?

Cateogory: CR1

  • NOA1/Notice of receipt: Sept. 15, 2015
  • NOA2/I130 Approved: February 8, 2016 (NO RFE) :)
  • Process slowed down by us
  • Sent documents to NVC: April 11, 2016
  • Scan date: April 14/ May 7th (NVC said both I dont know why)
  • Case Complete: May 31, 2016 (No checklist) :dancing:

August 17, 2016: Visa Approved!!!! :dancing:
