Hey everyone! I just wanted to update and say that nothing has changed still 😂

I've been checking the mailbox for the NOA1 none stop. The last I've heard from them is the text message that stated they now have my case on the 17th.

I tried calling the bank to see if my cashier check been cashed and they have been no help!

I'm not yet able to check my case status online either which is kinda frustrating. Fingers crossed for it not taking too long :)

When they texted you did they mention your receipt number? You can sign up at myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov just so to have a little extra to check on to. Lol. I signed up for the USPS informed delivery so I wouldn't have to check the mailbox. This waiting game gives us all mixed emotions.

I’m really kicking myself for not remembering the e-notification option. Especially with the wait on the NOAs, I hate not being able to check the status of our case.

So, while we're waiting for the NOA letter, is there any way that we can show our employers that we are going through this process? Does the Infopass appointment help in any way? I don't know why they would take so long to send the receipt letter... I'm getting so anxious!

Did you submit the E-notification form together with your package?

No, I didn’t do that. I am disappointed that I forgot about that form. Do you know what number to call USCIS? I called the number from online and only heard options to check our status with a receipt number, and I don’t have that yet. Other posters said they called to find out when the NOA1 was mailed.

I found this online the other day. Huge time saver. Also, if you create an account here https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ you can see all the info as well

Just call them and ask for the case number. No big deal. I put the e-notification there, but didn't receive any text. So I called and was told that my letter was mailed out yesterday

Thanks that was really helpful. I've been trying to check status through this link with no luck https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do.

Your link however works!

You actually need to send the real color pictures, they don't accept photocopy of pictures, unfortunately it got to be the real pictures. Also, please make sure you don't send it earlier, wait for your 90 days before sending to avoid rejection and your package been sent back to you....best of luck

Well that's an information from other forum, it doesn't necessary mean that the application would be rejected, but it helps better if the pictures are in normal form.

What sort of information do they ask for to get the case number? I’m guessing applicants name and A number for sure. Was there anything else?

@lolita88 my husband (the GC holder) got an email from his work's HR about the upcoming GC expiration (later this week actually) and asking him to bring in more documents - he took in his unrestricted social security card and a printout from when we checked the status on the USCIS website using the receipt number texted to us, which says they're processing our case and we should receive the letter by Nov. 8 (or whatever the exact wording was). They were aware of the backup and said this was enough for now, just bring in the letter too once we receive it. Hope that's helpful! And hope we all receive our letters soon!

This doesn't make sense to me either. The "real" picture is a computer file since all the photos are digital these days, so why would it matter whether it's printed on fancy paper or regular printer paper? Not that USCIS always makes sense, but I'm completely confident that any photograph printed on any kind of paper will be acceptable as long as the images are clear...

Of course the application won’t be rejected. It’s unnecessary to print the photos on actual photo paper. I’ve never actually run into anyone who has until now. Bond paper in color with captions is fine. Many people even put multiple pictures on a single sheet. Photo paper will not help your case and “regular” paper will not hurt it. Photos aren’t really make or break evidence anyway.
