Travel after interview

My daughter has Interview Oct 1 .i know there is a 4 month time limit for her to travel to here. which is about Jan. or Feb. at the interview could she ask for extension to push it out to April or May.

 Or how long after enter to USA can she return, Day , Weeks , or till card in hand ??

 She is going to college and graduate March is why i am trying to figure out time line on her travel I know there is a why but unsure if i remember correctly

What type of visa is it?

Assuming this is a CR2 visa interview, the visa will be valid for 1 entry for six months from the date of the interview.  The same would be true for the K-1 visa.  However, travel AFTER US ENTRY is very different depending on the visa.  For CR2 she is free to travel internationally even the same day she enters, but she must either maintain permanent resident status or lose her green card.  Google: Maintaining US permanent resident status

Or you mean IR-2? Because IR-1 is an immigrant visa for a USC spouse whose marriage is more than 2years.

The answer would be the same, except that if this is the kind of IR2 that results in immediate citizenship upon entry, there is no need to maintain US residency at all.  

 

Please clarify.  Is "your daughter" the spouse of a US Citizen, the daughter of a US Citizen, or the stepdaughter of a US Citizen?

Then she will have a six month window of travel.  She could leave again and finish school as soon as the same day.  She'll have a stamp in her passport next to her visa that serves as a temporary green card for a year.  Maybe have her come spend her Christmas break with you and then go back and finish school.  You have lots of options.

So, what you are saying is that we can have of to 6mo. to enter the US?  Can you explain what type of options there are with the IR/ and IR2?

Immigrant visas have a six month validity from the date of the medical exam.  Entry to the US can be anytime between visa in hand date, and the expiration date of the visa.  Beyond that, I don't understand your question.  If you have your own question, please start your own topic and provide enough information to understand the context of your question.
