Yes. All my money orders were cashed. :(

So don't worry too much, it happens that the status stay like that, it's possible that they'll never change until your green card approval. It's frustrating to not be updated I know!

So finally my package returned, along with 5 rejections notices asking me for 30$ fee (3 I-797C in separate letters + 2 in the package). The package is a mess they put huge staples, the documents and the shredded envelopes are attached together! Right now it's a little overwhelming, I'm gonna see what can be saved but I'm gonna at least have to print the forms again, and the cover pages.

There was no green paper or notice about how to reapply so I guess I have to send a whole new package, like I never applied before.

So I guess I have to send the 30$ fee first and then reapply?

Geesh that's horrible ! Good thing you made more than one copy of the package then, right?

So sorry that happened.

Yes you'll pay the $30 fee separately with a copy of the letter they sent to the specific address. Then you'll have to start over. Super sh!tty.

I have everything on the computer I hope there's nothing missing! I'm gonna have a lot of copies do to! It's a good thing it's the week end, this way I won't be tempted to rush things and I hope this time no mistakes!

Do you know if the 30$ check has to be address to U.S department of homeland security too?

Oh so I have to wait until they cash the 30$ fee before sending a new package?

I don't think you have to wait for them to cash the $30 to reapply

they basically told you two things:

1) ur check bounced-- so you owe the government money for that i.e. it's basically like the same as an overdraft fee. Pay it whenever, separately to the place they told you to

2) U need a new application to get AOS benefits.

So I suggest you mail ur new application and the $30 fee about the same time (if you can)
no sense delaying payment to the gov't

In regards to your question-- it's odd that they didn't tell you WHO to address check to
I'll google around that address they put on there, or see what the section 103.7 they refer to means.

But the fact that the address has USCIS tells me that you're probably safe using Department of homeland... but i'll run down my first two options I gave you first to see if you can confirm.

But keep the faith!

Thank you! Regarding the fact that there's no instruction except the notice asking for me to pay them a 30$ fee, I made copies again and re-printed all the form with new dates, like a brand new application! I guess that's what they want and it's safer.

I checked the famous section 103.7(a)(2)(i) and it was a good advice it says "must be payable to the United State Department of Justice", so I guess it's not USDHS like I thought first. Can you confirm? I still have doubt sometimes with my English

It's just confusing!

When I check the 8 CFR 1003.8 it shows that.

HELP!

Screenshot 2018-10-26 16.46.39.png

So now I think it should be paid to the U.S department of homeland security since they are the one who were charged for my bounced check. I go to the text they refer to but now it talks about appeals.. I need a couple of beers...

I'd go with USDHS (spelled out of course) as they are the ones owed the fee.

The mention of "appeals" is entirely different.

You can pass me a beer though...

Yes after reading it again I’ll go for the USDHS (speeded out too 😂)

And the beer feels good 👍

Am with K1VisaHopeful

It sounds to me that they say payment must be made to the applicable agency

The applicable agency here is USDHS since that's the initial people the check bounced too.

Ignore the appeals things and being out of the country. None of that applies to you.
