My interview is on Wednesday and I’ve just got the instruction email from the embassy. It says to bring the DS-260 confirmation page (not Ds-160) but when I go to fill that out it doesn’t give an option of K1 in the visa category - anyone else’s experience this? Trying to contact that but can’t get through right now

U have filled out ds 160 and u were able to choose interview date. Ur good don't worry

IN REGARDS TO WHICH DATE TO USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

But what about the DS-260? I’ve been asked to fill that out and bring with me too?

I think the issue comes from the constant struggle with recognizing if the visa is an immigrant one or non immigrant one. From my understanding the ds 260 is for an immigrant visa.

The best thing to do is to call your embassy and ask.

The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non-immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links (what you received in the email) will send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 and DS-260 even though it truly is a non-immigrant visa requiring I-134 and the DS-160. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant (ceac.state.gov/). It stays that way until after your interview and the approval and your visa is ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non-immigrant. It truly is a non-immigrant visa with immigrant intent.

This why calling the Embassy is not necessary.

@Nicola and Jordan just ignore those instructions as they are not for a K-1 visa but for the CR-1 married couples visa.

Hi guys!

I read here:

http://www.lovevisalife.com/k-1-fiance-visa-port-of-entry/

That "If you are entering with your U.S. Citizen fiance(e), it is OK for you (and K-2) to accompany your fiance(e) in the the U.S. Citizen line. On the other hand, if you are alone, you should go through the non-U.S. Citizen line"

I will be entering at LAX and I wanted to make sure that is true.

Thank you in advance for any info 😊

You should probably ask the officer directing traffic. It depends on how busy they are. You might be allowed through the US Citizen's line, but they may want you to go through the visitor's line. I have heard both work and I have heard they direct you depending on the traffic. Can't hurt to ask. I think it won't be a problem but your better off to ask. IMHO.

I received an email about 20 minutes ago with tracking. I pressed on the link and my passport is coming tomorrow 🎉 🎉

So the spooky thing is that my NOA1 was on the 21st March, meaning it will be exactly 8 months once I receive my passport back!
