Yeah, we waited until the status changed to ready and then my fiancé logged on to the embassy's website and submitted the DS-160 and right after that, he was able to view their appointment calendar - everything goes fast from here!

We have submitted the DS-160 already, so should the interview date be scheduled for you or you have to do it yourself?

Our embassy (Sweden) had my fiancé choose his own time on their website calendar.

Are you going through Bogota by chance? If so, you should be able to schedule the appointment online.

I think most embassies have the beneficiary schedule through their website, but could be different across all of the difference embassy locations too.

Yes! we are going threw bogota. So im guessing we'll have to wait till it arrives at the embassy. Also, for packet 3, did your fiancee receive threw her email correct?

Not trying to be negative here, but, I thought you only submitted the DS-160 after it gets to Embassy. At least that was the case with us. Perhaps things are different now or in your country?  Congratulations!

Yes, wait until your status changes to "ready", that means the embassy has your application and they are ready for you to go on their website and select an appointment time.

Yep, they sent packet 3 by email to my fiancé after he made his appointment.

You can log in and schedule the interview yourself once you have completed the DS-160. No need to wait for the embassy to  schedule your interview. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/BGT_Bogota.html
