The "progressive" blue wave became little more than a trickle in Congress Wednesday, as Democrats, faced with an opportunity to express a lack of faith in Immigration and Customs Enforcement, chickened out. On a resolution reaffirming the importance of ICE, only 18 Democrats voted to deny ICE their good faith.

The rest voted either "yes," or worse, "present."

The Washington Examiner reports that "[t]he House passed a nonbinding resolution saying lawmakers support the 'officers and personnel who carry out the important mission of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.' A two-thirds majority was needed to pass it, and because Democrats voted “present” instead of “no,” it passed easily in a 244-35 vote."

Glad congress is doing something important. At least this major bill passed, and we can all now rest assured that lawmakers support the hard working people at USCIS. It's very important that we know things like this. We are fortunate that there are no real issues that congress could be working on right now.

So it is not important to know how your representatives stand on certain issues?  Why did the Dems pull their bill to eliminate ICE?

I am old enough and have observed enough to know where they stand. Dog and pony show's are not my thing. If congress can't think of something significant to do, I would rather they just go home really. Donate their salaries to a good cause.

It seemed political and they did not want to be held to a vote that Paul Ryan promised.  The Dems in Congress are a fickle bunch.

Sure they are when it comes to them getting re-elected.

Eventually Republicans will control the presidency and both houses of congress.  Then they will introduce real immigration change.

What is wrong with the laws on the books now?  Just enforce them and build a wall.

Pretty sure the only person to do that to date is Trump.
