I got global entry no problem immediately after getting my 2 year conditional GC in 2016. I have used it a lot those last two years - no issues. I am currently unable to use it as I am stuck in the ROC purgatory and extension letters won't work, but as soon as I get my 10y GC I will update and start using it again.

So it is not true that conditional GC holders cannot get GE, unless something changed very recently.

My GE interview was at EWR as well, and I do 90% of my international travel through that airport.

So after the 10 year green card is received, can you continue using your Global Entry? Or do you need to do something else?

Upon receipt of your 10 year green card, u must go to the global entry office and present it to update their file. Ul have issues with your Global Entry, if u won’t show ur 10 year green card

Thanks for clarifying. I assume this is done after obtaining citizenship as well then?

DO you need to schedule an appointment to do this or can you just show up to any GE office?

I did not do that - go to an office in person that is. I just updated my 10 year GC info on the Global Entry Website.

Just show up. The one at the airport is like okay. I did mine there and flew out the same day and when I returned 2 weeks after it was good. I was told by the officer that I need to update the new GC the office coz they’ll scan it again

Every time a document to registered with global entry is replaced you must update it in their system. Some times this can be done online. And sometime you have to go to airport.  You can walk to (but read the signs before walking into) the GE office at the airport.

Documents include passports, driver licenses, and green cards. Each drivers license and passport you replace or add must be recorded in GE. Sometimes I have done these updates online.  Sometimes I have done them at the GE office.

When you become a USA citizen, do not use your global entry until you get a USA passport.  Apply for you USA passport as soon as possible to limit the chance of your GE being canceled.  For this one, I needed to go to the airport.

Also when your address changes, you can do the address change online.  They won’t change your record of physical address online but your mailing address can be updated.

Just an update on this - we ended up going to JFK and the process there was smooth - Waited 3 minutes, in and out in 2 minutes. Approved instantly. The guy at Newark was wrong - if anyone has similar problems with Newark airport, would recommend scheduling an appointment at JFK.
