Hi

 

I am in the process of filing for a divorce from my spouse. We only live together for 3 months after her arrival. We have no joint accounts, tax records or pictures together. We have nothing. Will this be an issue? Will I be able to keep my green card

What visa did you arrive in? 

Do you have 2 year or 10 year green card? 

How long were you married ? How long you know each other? 

 

Kind of needs a little bit more info. 

 

But if you have no proofs of legit relationship, it mighy become a problem eventually.

I was thinking the same thing. Especially after in their other thread, OP was asking about inviting her husband uncle from Ghana.  

 

So who is US citizen? Who is an immigrant?

Arrived on a two year conditional green card May 2016. Separated since September 2016. We have been married for 3 years. We don't have any documents such as pictures, bank statements or tax return. I moved to another state. We constantly argued about me sending money back home to help my family and I didn't help with our own household. The police had to be called out twice and on both times they told us we needed to see a marriage council.  I have read that you have to show your marriage is bona fide in order to remove your green card condition.

Yep. And you clearly mighy have problems with that. Living together for just 3 months after arrival doesn't look good.

So the 2 years you guys were separated, do you have proof of trying to work it out? Marriage counseling, communication, plans on how you guys are planning to proceed even if just tentative?

I'm confused. You mention sending messages to "her" (your spouse) but then you mention your "husband's uncle". If your spouse is your husband, who is the female you sent messages to to try to salvage your marriage? And if you've been separated since September 2016 with no communication how have you got involved with bringing your "husband's uncle" here? Surely you spoke to your spouse about that?

Have you already filed to remove conditions on your 2 year Green Card?  If you can't show evidence of having entered the marriage in good faith, you are going to likely be denied, imo.....

 

Time to get a good immigration lawyer.

I will have to agree that “on paper” your marriage does not look legit. You have been married for 3 years but within a few months in the US you separate to different states.

 

You have no evidence of comingling finances. Or sharing responsibilities of the household.

 

You have no pictures or corespondence in the 2 years of being together.

 

When it is time for your Removal of Conditions expect to be heavily scrutinized.
