Dear, Visa Journey  Community

Last week my petition I-129F (petition for fiance) was approved, thanks God, and I received a hard copy  letter NOA2 over the weekend, but reading the letter I encountered that my petition has been forwarded to the consulate in Colombia, For a moment I thought that it would be sent to the NVC, I made a phone call to them and they said to contact the Embassy of Bogota.

This is part of the letter:

I-797 NOTICE OF ACTION

The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate, It has been noted this is your third approved I-129F petition.
Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate.
The petitioner can also file Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition, to request that we notify another consulate of the petition approval for visa proccesing purposes.

My questions are:

WHY THE APPROVED PETITION WAS SENT TO COLOMBIA INSTEAD OF NVC?

IS THERE ANYTHING I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT?

Please note that out of the 2 previous petitions , I only used 1 petition the second one never made it, never used,  year 2013 and 2015  both were for my ex, I'm sorry.

I will appreciate your input!

Thank you in advance!!

It goes to NVC then to the assigned consulate.  NVC is a part of the Department of State

Your petition is likely not even at NVC yet.  You need to wait a couple of weeks because they don't know about you yet

I'm sorry but i don't get it!!

looking at the 2 previous petitions 2013 & 2105 clearly states that were sent to NVC, why this one in particular said on the letter that's has been sent to Consulate?

USCIS does not assign consulates.  USCIS does not send petitions directly to the consulate.  NVC is the gateway to the consulate system.  USCIS uses boiler plate text on the NOAs.  Your adjudicator chose that language which is not incorrect.  It is being sent to the consulate with a layover at NVC.  Think about it in terms of a flight.  I am going to the Philippines.  I have a layover in Hong Kong.  Am I not still going to the Philippines?

I have been on this site for more than 10 years.  You are not the first to receive this text in the NOA

Hi,

I have gotten the same approval notice as yours. When I contacted nvc they said if the notice says " forwarded to the listed consulate" it means it's going direct to the consulate. I will be contacting my consulate to find out if that's the case.

A simple check of ceac.state.gov will advise you if it is still at NVC or it has arrived at your embassy. You will need your case number to initiate the query.
