First your ds-261 will be reviewed then fee will be opened. I called nvc and ask the lady on phone to review it for me and she did. fee was opened after that.

I completed the DS-260 today, and now CEAC prompts me to upload civil documents. I was shocked to see that their list of required documents also includes a UK police certificate. I only ever lived in the UK for ten months and thought I don't need one from there then. That's what it says on the travel.state.gov website!

An NVC operator told me to mark the document as "unavailable" and attach a note explaining why I think I don't have to produce a UK police certificate. She wasn't sure herself of the requirements, though (*massive eyeroll*).

Anybody else bump into something similar? How'd you handle it?

(BTW, @R&OC, I had to fill in ALL my residential and employment history. Wonder why it wasn't there for you.)

i think P.C from all those countries are required where u stayed 6 or more months

Is there anyone here who has lived in Saudi Arabia for more than a year but now lives in another country? I want to make sure that police certificate is not required from there. It says on travel.state.gov website that police certificate is unavailable for expatriates who no longer live in Saudi Arabia. I want to confirm NVC doesn't ask for it when I have to upload documents.

I spoke to NVC representative coupleshe days ago she said usually it takes upto 3 weeks... but normally between 7-14days after the scan date they should be done reviewing it, she spilled the beans... for those who are not cc immediately, perhaps it was done being reviewed but not updated fast due to backlogs or for some  reason.... that Is why I preferred calling them constantly or emailing, I dont want to be dormant and the case will be procastinated..... :)

I agree with the dates you mention...I really hope so too because we are on day 8!

You don't need police certificate for Saudi Arabia, you cannot obtain it if you left the country permanently. PCC of Saudi Arabia issued on the base of your Residence Permit or National Identity Card.

See, I think that's a misunderstanding. At least that's not exactly what it says in the official info texts. The Department of State's website as well as Germany's US Embassy's website are really very clear that unless we're talking country of birth, country of current residence, or country in which you have been arrested (six months for these), you have to produce a police certificate only after having lived in a country for 12 months or more. Nowhere can I find a solid source that says the cutoff is six months no matter the country. Hence my confusion.
