Frankfurt Consulate and passport delivery times

Hi, everybody who went through Frankfurt,

How long did it take for you to get your passport with the visa back? I've been told that mine left the premises on Wednesday (5 days ago), but I still haven't received it. I wrote an email asking the consulate for the DHL tracking number, but they just referred me to the ustraveldocs website, which I've been checking all along, of course 🙄. Did anyone here ever receive a postal service tracking number? I'm getting really antsy here; mail in Germany should take three days MAX.

Yes, I triple checked the delivery address. I really hope nobody effed up anything.

If anybody could share their experience, I'd be grateful.

I have done a few work Visa application/renewals (E-Visa) there, my appointments were on Monday and I always had my passport on Thursday, but the last one was 5 years ago so things could have changed.

Hey I was in Frankfurt in May and they told me that it can take up to two weeks until I get the passport in the mail. I had my interview on a wednesday as well but requested a pick up and that was approved for the following tuesday. I would say don't panic.. it will come in the mail soon. Did you check on ustraveldocs for the current location of your passport? has it been mail yet?

hope this info helps..

just in case you don't know about this -> here you can check for the status of your passport:

Thanks, guys, for your feedback.

Seems like I'm just really unlucky: I contacted the embassy again to ask why my passport wasn't there yet and if they can provide me with a DHL tracking number. After some sluggish back and forth via email it turns out that they've outsourced the shipping part of the visa processing to ustraveldocs (I thought they're basically the same entity) and that I have to ask them. The ustraveldocs customer service representative I talked to yesterday thought it was "bizarre" that I hadn't yet been given a DHL tracking number even though the visa status is "out for delivery." He told me he can't do anything at this point, and I am to write an email, so that they can forward it to the mailroom person. Long story short: they don't know where my passport is.

I just called again today to inquire whether they had found my passport. They haven't yet dealt with my case.

I can't even go and have them issue me a temporary passport to travel to the US under the visa waiver program because that will set my real passport to "stolen" and cancel the visa.

This is fun.

Got the visa! They were able to track it down. Turns out it's been sitting at the post office for almost a week (I never received a tracking number or a delivery slip in the mailbox). When I went to pick up the passport just now, the post office employee scanned the barcode on the box and told me that somebody else’s name popped up on the screen as the recipient! Something must have gone very, very wrong along the way... But I’m glad everything is fine now. Phew.

Hi,

i don’t have the exact timeline but we started filing our CR-1 in begin of August. I just had my interview in Frankfurt on the 3rd of December. I am reading everywhere even on their website that they send the passport back within 10 days. It has been more than 10 business days and I don’t know what’s going on. They just told me that it’s in the last phase 4 days ago. What ever that means?!

i am really frustrated and hope that I can be back with my husband and his family for Christmas.

Does anyone have recent experiences with the passport return times?
