Hello, My name is Uche Godwin, my CR1 visa interview is in three weeks time, I heard about frontloading before the interview. I have my marriage certificate, our wedding pictures, our phone calls and WhatsApp conversation printed out. Pls how can I frontload and what do I need to frontload. I have a genuine marriage with my wife, we intend to live together forever but it seems my country (Nigeria) is one of the red flag countries. Pls what do I do to be better prepared for the interview. Thanks

You must be mistaken because what is commonly referred as front loading a petition is when you send a large amount of evidence when the petitioner files the petition. You will then bring more evidence to corroborate the evidence that was initially submitted.

As to being prepared for the interview you need to know as much about your wife, family, and future household as possible.  Also they will probably ask you questions about your relationship when you met, how you met, how you decided to get married, her family, her relationship with your family, your wedding, plans to move, live, set up the household after the visa, things like that.

If you prepare a whole timeline narrative with evidence from first contact to interview that is as prepared as you can be.  Remember it isnt the marriage or the wedding being judged - it's the relationship and the wedding is just one event in the whole relationship timeline.  The marriage has been acknowledged during petition processing and you are there to just validate that and provide all the "what else do you have" to support the relationship.

Sometimes its all for nothing and its a question or two then an approval, sometimes its a beginning to end grilling LOL.  Best to prepare to be grilled.

Good luck!

Front loading can only be done at I130 submission as stated.

If either of you were married before, have the divorce paperwork complete and official.  That seems to be a big obstacle in reading other posts.  Sometimes they submit the wrong documents to show their prior marriages ended.  If it's a first marriage for both, you are at an advantage.

Frontloading of petition is usually at the USCIS stage while sideloading is at the NVC stage.

Nigeria is not as bad as you think,in as much as you know your spouse very well you should be fine. Just go in there be confident, bold and answer your questions appropriately but most importantly, put God first
