Thank you!!! One EAD-AP combo plastic card from USCIS and one SSN paper card from SSA in two different envelopes. :)

How long did they usually have the EAD valid for?

Guys, I've got my EAD & AP combo card as well as the SSN today 9/18/2018...

...BUT at our PREVIOUS address mailbox!!! @.@ LUCKILY, somehow we did manage to get them from the old apartment mailbox which was 15 mins away from where we are currently living. Therefore, I'd strongly recommend that, in case you are about to move and you're 100% sure of the new address where you're moving to, you should start to submit the address change request online 7 days before your actual moving date so the new address can be completely updated into USCIS system, thus to avoid such terrible inconvenience as shared above.

Below is my journey obtaining the EAD, AP & SSN so far. Next chapter, Green Card!

For those awaiting for your EAD & AP card, just be patient and optimistic, they'll be coming very soon, surprisingly! :D :D :D

Yes,  they arrived in two envelopes at the same time. But I've heard some people got the EAD card before the SSN. You'd better check it with SSA just in case.

Can’t you ask them to give you an offer letter and you can expedite it?

Expedite doesn't really helps. I tried doing that last August 30, still no decision with the expedite until now so I made a follow up.

I called USCIS regarding that and he said to "wait".  I was told the same thing like 3 weeks ago that they're currently working on it. (scripted I guess)

It's really frustrating!

Yep, you’re right - expediting really doesn’t work for us all. I have experienced the same! I’m actually starting to lose my sh*t now. I have tried to remain positive throughout the entire process now I’m getting fed up.

Whats your recieved date??? Mine is April 2nd

I called last week to expedite but the tier 1 officer made a mistake. Instead of filing Expedite processing, she only did an inquiry on how to expedite so i spoke with the Tier 2 officer and she created the expedite request for me on Monday.

Now I don’t have a job offer to support my expedite processing that’s completed today - and I didn’t get an email from them either.

This waiting for EAD thing is insane and causing me so much stress. I hope they work on EAD faster because of the repercussions. Imagine being unemployed for 5 months... 😔

Did you get a work offer to expedite ? I did expedite too but without a job offer and the staff told me if I didn’t hear back from them 45 days, that means rejection.
