Oh wow, that's definitely faster than we thought! I know you said you preferred June interview... I would trade ya if we get scheduled in June, haha :)

I've got my medical on 11th May so I'm guessing my results won't make it in time for the interview. However I'm so glad that I'm almost at the end of the process.

hello guys,

I have a ceac question. My files opened up, which I864 document do I fill out?

Do I fill out all of them? I am a little confused

It says: "AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT FORM(I-864,I-864EZ,or I-864W)"

thank you,

no u submit one that applies to u

Which I-864 Form to Use

If you look at the USCIS website, there are a multitude of I-864 forms listed: I-864, I-864EZ, I-864A, I-864W, and even I-864P.

The I-864 is the most common of the forms used. This is what petitioners and joint sponsors use.

The I-864EZ has three different criteria points that need to be met before a petitioner can use it. Remember, if you do meet all the criteria, it doesn't mean you have to use it; you can still use the I-864 if you wish. But, since the I-864EZ is shorter (and thus easier) to fill out, if you can use it, I suggest it as there's lower chances of messing up and getting a checklist.

The I-864A is used for household members of sponsors. Typically, the only time I recommend using the I-864A is for spouses of joint sponsors who are deciding to contribute their income as well. So, in these cases, the petitioner would file an I-864, the main joint sponsor would file an I-864 as well, and then the joint sponsor's spouse would file an I-864A.

The I-864W is rarely used. The only time I see it used is for children immigrating (with one of their parents) who will become US citizens upon POE. Please read the I-864W and its instructions for more information.

The I-864P, which really isn't a form, is the poverty guidelines and is used to see how much income is needed for different household sizes.

I am assuming the points to be met are these:

1. You are the person who filed or is filing Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;

2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on Form I-130; and

3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form W-2s provided by your employers or former employers.

If so I can just file this one?

or should I file I-864 with it?

thank you,

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me:

1. It seems that it says the applicant/benficiary will need to bring their petitioners' original birth certificate with them to the interview

(Along with originals&photocopies of everything else)

Is that true..? I mean..I CAN mail my husband my original birth certificate, but it's the only one I have...I wish just a photocopy of mine could suffice..

2. Do we write our NVC case number on EVERY page we mail in to the NVC? Are there certain pages we should not write on?

And just to give an update,

Our AOS fee finally updated to "PAID" on Monday, April 9th, on the 7th business day since I made the payment on 3/31,

And our IV fee updated to "PAID" on Wednesday, April 11th, also on the 7th business day since I made the payment on 4/3.

So the IV Application was unlocked upon it updating to "PAID", and my husband & I completed the form the next day (yesterday) on 4/12.

Now all that's left is mailing in the AOS/IV Packet, which I really wanted to do before, but thanks to conflicting information from USCIS and the NVC about how long police certificates are valid for, we are waiting on a new police certificate to arrive in the mail for my husband. Once it does, we can finally mail our packet.

We were told 12 months, and then 6 months, and his police certificate is now 7 months old because we got it ahead of time last year when we thought this process wouldn't take this long & when we thought they were valid for a year--which we still believe they are but we cant trust that anymore due to conflicting information..
