Well, tomorrow is the big day.  We're probably going to leave Battle Creek at around 7am for our drive up to Holland, MI. The Oath Ceremony is at 9am. I think it's only supposed to be a couple hours long. I'm bringing a change of clothes so my spouse and a friend of ours can all go out for lunch afterwards.

I bought a new suit for the ceremony.  At first, I went to the Men's Wearhouse in Kalamazoo, MI. But, the very first jacket they put on me, had a price tag that said $689.  I thought.... "OMG, no way!!!"  But, then they had me try on the pants that go with it. Those were too big. So, they said "You'll have to go with separates."  Then, I spoke to a man there, who said he could get me a tailored suit for $425. After talking to my spouse about it, we decided that was also too expensive. My spouse said we should go look at Kohl's, here in Battle Creek. So, that's what we did.  I ended up getting a suit-jacket, pants, shirt and belt for just $176.  I also got a $30 voucher and went back there last weekend and got myself a tie. I got my pants hemmed at a local tailor for just $10 and, I already have some slip-on dress shoes. So, I'm all set for tomorrow.  My suit is navy blue, my shirt is white and my tie is red so...... I will be dressed in red, white and blue for my Oath Ceremony. 🙂👍  I'll try and post pictures later this weekend.

My interview date is 05/21

I just called USCIS to see where my case is and the Tier 1 said it's still in CSC and she can not know when or if they will transfer my case. She said that I have to request transfer in the office where I want my case to be transferred and they will decide if my case will be transferred or not. Does anybody know which number should I call to get Detroit office?

Yay.  I am finally now a citizen.  Now I can move back to Canada and get away from this country with it's ridiculous labour laws.... sometimes 12 hours a day 7 days a week.... illegal in Canada.  Had Carpal tunnel surgery here in Nov. 2016 and, even with my partner's insurance, I still had to pay $1,100 out of pocket. In Canada, health care is FREE. In Canada jobs pay better and the people are friendlier.  I'm tired of trying to relax on a Sunday afternoon here and, a gun-nut that lives a couple houses away has to shoot off his guns for target practice.  But, worst of all, is the criminal, con-man and orange-faced clown that stole an election with Russia's help. Trump and his followers have shamed this country with their hate and criminal acts.  Maybe someday when things have changed for the better, I'll move back. But, with U.S. citizenship now, at least crossing the border to get cheap groceries will be easier.  At the end of the Oath Ceremony today, they told us they would be showing a short congratulatory video by the president.... and there was an audible groan in the room!  What does that tell ya!!! Well, I still plan on registering to vote and, can vote from abroad like my partner used to, when he lived in Canada with me. I'll certainly be glad to vote in November 2020.  I sure hope Trump goes down and takes the slimy, criminal Republican party with him!

For my wife the case was transferred automatically.  We did not have to do anything.  I don’t know if the Tier 1 is giving out valid information.

Do you mind sharing when the case was transferred ( after filing N-400, or how many days before interview).

I am not entirely certain when the transfer occurred as we did not receive any notice.  When my wife had her N400 interview scheduled, we assumed it may be a joint interview with the I751, so I made sure I could attend with her.  Sure enough, when the IO called my wife, she asked if I was there and then called us both back for a very short I751 interview.  The IO clearly had the I751 submission in front of her on the desk and she asked if we wanted to add any further information to that package (we added the past two income tax transcripts), then the IO verified the I751 biographical information and that was about it.  I was then escorted out and my wife continued with her N400 interview.  Two days later we received a paper notice that the I751 was transferred to NBC and a month after that, we got the NOA that the ROC was approved, so they scheduled my wife’s oath and we were done in early June.

I am not sure if that helps, and it seems there have been some changes lately in Detroit, but I have never heard of an applicant having to request a transfer.

Good Luck!

I know that transfer supposed to happen automatically, but it didn't (at least according to USCIS case status and tier 1). I'm just worried that my file wont be here for interview and they wont be able to approve my naturalization. So I called USCIS to see where my file is and if I can do something to get it transferred to Detroit for combo interview and Tier 1 said that i should submit request to the office that I wont my case to be transferred. But reading your post I guess I751 will be transferred after interview.

When you file the N400, any open items should be combined.  For us it has been a year, so maybe things have changed.  There is a thread in the ROC forum that is for combo I751 and N400 filers; there may be more current information from some of those filers regarding your question.

Good Luck!
