I hadn't even thought that far ahead yet.  Does that pertain to K-2s as well?  Are they eligible to take the test in 3 years too?

That I am not sure about, never went too much into the K2 process.

Bet there is some source or info on here though through search bar possibly.

This page is really useful: https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/educators/naturalization-information

There are also continuous residence and physical presence requirements that you'd need to be aware of and fulfill.

For continuous residence requirement, you'll need to have been a LPR for 3 years and do not make foreign trips that are 6 months or longer.

As for the physical presence requirement, you'll need to be in the US for at least 18 months.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Im only  asking now as My job background in the US requires me to be a citizen... so for me to get a job similar to what I've done of the past 7 years I need to be a citizen.

No they need to wait 5 yrs if they are 18 and over when the K1 Naturalizes. If they are under 18 when the parent naturalizes then they become USC at that time.

Thanks for this... Im not planning on leaving the US once I enter on Wednesday unless my soon to be husband gets sent overseas with the military... where I will go with him anyway but it counts as the US as long as Im on orders.

So that page says 5 years this is why I'm confused...

It is a great question.  I have been so caught up in USCIS and NVC that I forgot there is life after that!

So AJ and Aira are now 17 and 15.  They will both be over 18 when Rose becomes a citizen.  Something else for me to figure out!  LOL :D

Here's another page on continuous residence and physical presence requirements: https://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship/citizenship-through-naturalization/continuous-residence-and-physical-presence-requirements-naturalization

Google 'Who is eligible for naturalization - USCIS' and you'll get a PDF file from USCIS on Chapter 4. I cannot drop the link here because it's a PDF and will just prompt me to download on my phone. You'll find the various categories and requirements for each.

My older two had to do it on their own and the younger two got theirs from me.  When the time comes if they are both in college and work part time (mine did) they might be able to get the fee waived. Mine did as adults it's supposed to be on them to pay for it not the parents at that point.
