Thank you for letting me know.  Guess I have to settle with cutting the lines only then.

With my type of ROC taking 25-30 months, I certainly will relearn how to talk to CBP officers. :P

25-30 months?! Here's wishing you a ton of patience... :jest:

PSA: Do NOT bother applying for Global Entry right now. You will NOT be approved. You will only be conditionally approved and have to wait until your new GC comes, as it is tied to the GC and not the letter of extension.

If you apply now, the ONLY benefit you will get is the TSA pre-check. Seeing as it's taking ages for the ROC to be approved, knowing what  I know now, I would not have applied for Global Entry while ROC is pending.

Did you get fully approved even though your Green Card was expired? Please elaborate.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, we were actually in Germany.  Chris was fully and totally approved.  We used the Global Entry kiosk at JFK airport yesterday with no issues.

Yay! Which document did he use in the kiosk?

Just his expired GC.  The machine did tell him he had to present his documents to an officer, but at JFK there is one right there dedicated to GE.  From what I saw all GC holders were required to present their documents to an officer, but it was literally an extra minute.  No line, nothing.

She must have applied for GE before her GC expired? My husband's GC expired 12/2017 and he applied for GE about March 2018. They said he couldn't be fully approved until her gets his new 10 year GC. Nothing came in the mail and he can't even get TSA pre-check, the known traveler number that was provided to him doesn't seem to be working. It's so frustrating :(

unless you have a valid green card, be prepared for it to be denied. My husband applied while pending ROC they said they would wait for him to get his 10 yr GC and eventually denied the application. The green card has to be valid.

In your earlier note, you mentioned that the enrollment center said your husband could get TSA pre-check at best while ROC was pending. So even TSA pre-check was on hold? If he's gotten GE by now, did the five-year clock start at conditional approval or full approval?

Did your husband apply for GE after his GC expired or prior to that?
