thanks for replying. I think he would go check, it won't hurt. thank you

Hi there

we had similar problems getting the police clearance- it was delivered weeks prior and filed away somewhere in the Cape Town police station.  The webmaster of the police clearance website actually helped us track it down, providing images of the person who received the courier waybill in Cape Town, as they were busy responding it hadn’t arrived!

This link should help you track status:

https://www.saps.gov.za/services/certificate.php

It will tell you whether the PC is completed by the “Finalized Date” and if the dispatch method is ”Courier” than it’s probably somewhere at the local station.

Good luck either way getting ahold of it.

congrats! Once you get your case number you will log onto the website to see if there are any available dates... Dont be surprised if the dates are well into the future... My husband and I received our case number in November they didnt release interview dates until December and the closet date was Feb.... Not sure of the pattern now maybe someone who has recently gone through that step will have more up to date info...... this was a year ago for us..... Good luck on the rest of your journey

Thanks for your response! We got our case number assigned. Which website must we go to for interview dates?

hopefully someone else will chime in unfortunately I cant remember the website..... and yes you have to wait for the embassy to receive your packet to schedule and interview and further more you have to wait for the embassy to release interview dates I do remember we checked and checked until we were blue in the face before there were dates available. We received case number in November new dates werent released until Dec maybe Jan and the first available date was Feb 7th......

Hello Everyone!!!

I hope that all his well with you guys.  I have a question, I don't know if any of you encountered the same problem. We applied for our police report from Cape Town on the 15th of november and up to now we didn't received it yet and my fiancee interview is on this 19th of this month meaning in about 3days. What should we do? proceed with the interview or what should we do?

yes def go to the interview and if you are approved they will tell you to bring the Police Clearance back and they will then issue the visa so yes def go to the interview

Finally a status change tonight at 8pm “new card is being produced”! It’s been a looooong week! An awesome Christmas present will hopefully arrive in the mail soon. This process has been so tiring and frustrating. Good luck to everyone starting now. It took me 1 and a half years from my first application to Green Card.

congrats!

Finally received my green card today and it’s actually green! Just in time to be a nice Christmas present! We’re moving to Texas at the end of January and I’m planning to start looking for a job in that area. Good luck to everyone who are still waiting. Hang in there!

Congrats to you!!! Now you can have a bit of a breather!
You interviewed for the K1  the same day as Shaun,my husband, at the consulate in Joburg. 😀
We had our AOS interview on November 18. All went well until the end where they told us that the sealed medical package that he turned in at the airport was not in his file. We are still waiting to see if they find it or if he needs to go get a new medical check. We are hoping for good news in this new year!

Hi guys,

How long did it take you to get your police clearance? We've been waiting 5 weeks now and hope to have it before our interview on January 30th.

If we dont have it by then, should we call the embassy a week in advance to reschedule?

I wish we had known to apply sooner. The wait is so long!

Our case has been recieved by the US consulate in Johannesburg, as per the ceac.state.gov shows its ready.

But we have not recieved an appointment letter yet.

How long does it usually take for them to send it?

Hi Kyle, it took about a week for us to receive the letter (we recieved it just 2 days ago), however we were able to book our interview without the letter. They basically just send a generic letter to everyone giving the instructions. Here it is if you want to tet started.  K1 Instructions (1).pdf I also heard some people get their letter quicker if they email or call the embassy.
