Thanks. it pisses me off so I am going to look into it and put the bill for an annulment.

Money aside.... you're saying it takes a long time for an annulment? Does anyone know how long approximately?

$6000+ and 2+ years and she will no longer be married.

My fiancée did her annulment a few years ago and it was 250,000 php plus another 50,000 php for gifts to the lawyer and politicians. I hear rumors that the “gifts” are no longer accepted because of a crackdown. I have another friend going through it now so we will see. Her lawyer says less than a year but in Filipino time that is 2 years easy.  Lol

We are talking about assets being taken, and usually form the man.

I have personally donated a house in the Philippines to my ex that was around $40K US Dollars, and cars and cash in the USA add another $30K

That is the one thing that drives me crazy. Filipinos have no idea what the word “schedule” means. It is insane. Meeting friends at 6:00 can mean anytime in the next few days.

For me It gets to the point of disrespect.

If I tell them meet me at 4pm,  you better be on time or if your late I expect a text or phone call, after 30 minutes being late then forget it.

I agree. I am trying to help them understand the differences in culture. I am starting with Rose’s kids. If they are going to be late they have to text Rose. It is working so far. I am trying to slowly realize that being on time is important. I have a friend who is the executive director at a mental residence home in Chicago. She really doesn’t like Filipino nurses because they are always at least 2 hours late for work and they don’t understand why that is bad. She won’t even hire Filipinos anymore.

I paid $500 for my uncontested divorce back in 2011 and it was a bargain I thought. All because my ex-wife was to dumb to read what it meant. She just thought that if she didn't sign then it wouldn't happen. But in NC after 30 days without signing or contesting the divorce it automatically is granted.

Gosh you should have heard her when she saw that it was granted, she was mad as hell.

God, I really hate that because I am on time 99% of the time. I hate Juan time because I am on time.

Then thats your choice.  If you're willing and able and feel the need to pay someone to leave you, maybe you should have been more careful about who you married? Either way, off topic...

You can't own land in Philippines if you are a US Citizen.

Wise up to the laws of the land or stay out of Philippines regional section
