Yikes

That's like a cardiac killer

Although I did have a French Canadian friend who did enjoy dipping her fries in mayo... But that's different than the poutine (French fries smothered with brown gravy and curded cheese).. hmm

I never eat fries without mayo which is a real challenge because it gives me weird stares from the waitstaff who needs to be reminded a few times after serving the fries before bringing the mayo.

I used to eat Ketchup and Mayo (called Pommes Schranke (Barrier fries)), but I don't eat things high in refined sugar anymore, so Ketchup's not part of my life anymore.

Ketchup in pasta! That gets you a ticket on the crazy train.

You wanna try mentioning that in a crowd of Pinoys (Filipinos)?

Fat free mayo just doesn't work though...LOL

(though I don't really like mayo) that sounds a bit like using skim milk as a substitute for cream in coffee (:P :P)

Gotta say, I thought the idea of fries on bread with mayo was totally disgusting, and my arteries squeeze just thinking about it...but it ain't half bad... too evil though. LOL

My mom used to cut her potatoes in rounds... fry them... and make a tater sammich with mayonnaise, salt & pepper... yummy!

LOVE SALT & VINEGAR POTATOE CHIPS!!!

I actually like fries w/ country white gravy... or fries with honey mustard sauce...

It's funny how many around here think that it's the most unnatural thing to put mayo on fries while folks around here seem to be quite fond of potato salad which is, in essence, cooked taters with mayo. Pointing this out is usually all it takes to convince even the hardest opponents that it's okay to put mayo on fries.

Fritten Rot-Weiß.

I've given a "potato salad" at church potlucks which has no mayo--of course, it was a somewhat derated version of potato-vadhakkinal, with mustard and cumin seeds and small quantity of urad (the proper stuff requires these, plus some turmeric and chilli pepper--about 1 serrano per litre of finished product).

Although I personally don't use mayo on fries, the idea doesn't really sound all bad. I usually use A1 steak sauce on my fries. I know some people who dip their fries in milkshakes or ice cream ... now that kinda makes me nauseous.
