Probably, from all indicators, USCIS has made an error to have returned your package.

It took me the whole day to reviews our forms  and its also frustrating. we called yesterday and uscis told us that they got a mistake to reject our forms since our forms are all correct its updated.. i cant say anything but to suck it up.

The EXACT same thing just happened to us! I was searching the forums to see if it had happened to anyone else. Just yesterday we received an I-797C rejection notice stating we had used an outdated version of a form in our AOS package. But I double-checked and every single form I included in the package -- I-485, I-864, I-765, and even the G-1145 -- are all the most up-to-date version directly from their website. I called the customer service line but they don't have representatives available to talk to until Monday. This is so frustrating!

Add another one to the list. Got our rejected packet back today. ALL of the forms that we downloaded were the correct versions. Spoke with USCIS and they told us it was their mistake. Resent the entire packet back with a letter and a screenshot of the USCIS page that has the edition date. Fingers crossed...

Wow seriously someone needs to get fired. That's super unacceptable if you ask me.

This happened to us today. I received the entire packet back with the same notice you received regarding I-485. All of the forms I have are the current ones on USCIS except I-693, I have the previous edition and on their website they say

Quote

10/19/17.  Starting Jan. 2, 2018, civil surgeons must use the 10/19/17 edition of Form I-693. USCIS will not accept the 02/07/17 version (or any previous editions) that a civil surgeon signed and dated on or after Jan. 2, 2018. You can find the edition date at the bottom of the page on the form and instructions.

My I-693 is the 02/07/17 edition but it was signed by the doctor before Jan. 2, 2018. so I don't think that is the problem. USCIS definitly made an error

Please add another couple! We filed in early January and got the same rejection notice stating the form I-485 was outdated. First of all, it was not! We called customer service and they could not help, told us someone higher up would call and talk to us about what happened, but they never did! We just resubmitted with the a fresh new copy of the form I-485. It sounds like someone who works there literally doesn’t know which form is the most updated form. Either that or their website is wrong.  I really hope we are accepted this time or we are going to a lawyer.

I’ve been searching for the 06/26/17 edition which is located in left lower corner. This present one states 12/13/17 in lower left corner so I’m thinking that’s the issue

I see what you’re saying but we resubmitted the same form again with a note explaining that we used the most updated version and we were accepted this time. We do think it was their error unless there was some unknown item wrong with our first form. We sent in the exact same form the first time. We are so thankful it was accepted.

I truly believe there was some type of error or miscommunication in early January. The form had just been updated when we filed. The second time around we had zero problems and had the same form and version. We were so confused because the website had the form version we used. I think that you will be fine. Just use adobe reader to fill out the forms and print after completion.

I really hope our AOS packet doesn't come back with a rejection... We sent ours out and was received by USCIS late January.  I got confirmation texts with Receipt #s.  When inputting the #s into the USCIS website to check case status, they stated:

On February 2, 2018, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC##########. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice.

On January 26, 2018, we received your Form I-131, Application For USCIS Travel Document, Receipt Number MSC##########, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice.

On January 26, 2018, we received your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization , Receipt Number MSC##########, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice.

Are my wife and I in the clear, or is there still a chance we might get a rejection?

That means it was accepted. It can still be denied if deemed ineligible for AOS for some reason, but it was properly filed and accepted and will be adjudicated.
