Hello to all!    As i prepare to embark on this long K1 journey, i am beginning to gather my necessary information to complete my I-129F packet.  I will be using screenshots of our texts on Viber messaging app as proof of on going relationship.   However i have one quick question.  Since her number is saved on my phone, the image shows her Name  on top instead of her number.  Would it be better to show the actual phone number on the messages or the just leave it as is with her name?  The messages do have our faces next to them though.   I just want to make sure they have no doubts.   I will also be sending receipts of gifts I have given her.  and video call screen shots.

I think the screen shots will be OK.  However, I suggest you concentrate more on evidence regarding your time physically together.  Quality evidence is stronger than the quantity of evidence you provide.  Remember, you must provide proof that you two have actually met within the last 2 years of paperwork submission.

yes, thank you.  I will also be submitting pictures together and proof that i went there.  but that is part of the meeting in person component isnt it?  We also have to prove we had an ongoing relationship.   what did you submit for that proof?

Everything above as well.

The USCIS wants to verify you have met with-in the past two years.  Quality evidence of this includes: airline tickets, passport stamps matching airline ticket dates, boarding passes, bus tickets, hotel receipts, etc.

If you are to add photos, I suggest adding photos of your visits with familiar landmarks in the background.
My wife and I only submitted 4 photos of us together with landmarks of our cities in the background: Seattle Space Needle and Vancouver BC Science World and Whistler Ski Resort.  We did add copies of her bus boarding passes when she would come to visit as well.  We provided zero chat or text logs.

We had no RFE's and approved K1 Visa with no problems.

However keep in mind, my wife came to the US from a very low immigration fraud country in Canada.  The amount of evidence you provide will be determined by the foreign fiance's country of origin.

Think like a USCIS agent.  Considering tons of immigration fraud cases out there - if you were a USCIS agent and presented with the evidence you submitted - would you believe the relationship is legit, and that you have met in-person within 2 years?

Quality > Quantity

I am not using the text message images as proof of meeting.  I am asking about the proof of ongoing relationship section. My question is:   is it better to show the images with her phone number or her name?   How did you guys very proof of ongoing relationship?    did you use text message screen shots?  an if so how did the picture look.

There is no perfect answer to your chat log question.

Generally speaking, I've read posts on VJwhere couples literally submitted 100 pages of chat logs and still received an RFE.  And I've read several posts where no chat logs were provided, yet their application was approved.

As I stated above, my fiance and I submitted ZERO chat screenshots, no facebook message screenshots, no skype screenshots - we submitted ZERO chat logs, no phone records, nothing regarding our communication - yet we were approved with no problems.

IMO - 2 factors weighed in heavier than any chat logs we could have submitted:

1. Her country is a low immigration fraud country - Canada

2. We provided QUALITY evidence of our on going relationship - Multiple bus/boarding passes when visiting, passport stamps, airline tickets on vacations we took together.

I recommend you update your VJ profile and add the foreign fiance's country.  That way, VJ members can give you better country specific information.  Once you do this, you can also click on the "portals" section and get information specific to the foreign fiance's country.

 No problem!

I wouldn't worry too much though.  I've read many posts on VJ with couples where the foreign fiance was from Vietnam, and they had their K1 Visas approved with little issue.

Here are a couple VJ links with good information on Vietnam immigration.

High fraud country simply means a little more evidence. No big deal. My wife is from the Philippines, another "high fraud" country. We did send a few pages of email/FB chats (random from various times in our relationship), but we also had a lot of in person/physical evidence (I was able to visit four times and was lucky enough to be there for the interview--but these are not required). Airline tickets (both names), hotel registrations (both names), etc. Talk about how you two met. If you met online (which is fine--Joan and I met on Facebook), then be sure to say how you met online and sent a copy of the terms and conditions for the particular website showing that the site is not a marriage broker. You'll be fine. Best of luck to you.

@rafaeltost I went through the same journey as you, and now my wife has been here for over a week and we're married. I do understand the anxiety that you have to go through. For on going evidence, we submitted viber chat logs, and some money and gift receipt that I sent her. I took the screenshot on my phone show date time stamp (mostly end of the day), you don't have to submitted every single day but every now and then. We went above and beyond and submit almost every single day. I'm not sure if they looked at it when processing our application but interview at HCM, they didn't. Our interview took only 1 min, they asked 3 brief questions and looked at a few pictures, off we went to register for visa. To make them more organized, nest 6 pictures in 1 US letter page in Photoshop and print it out, highlight the date. Good luck! I would suggest to hurry up and submit your I-129F package asap since the wait for approval is brutal
