Confused between k1 and CR1 for my Egyptian wife

My wife is in egypt right now and we got married last December in through  Egyptian  government process and she finally finished college so it's time to bring here her so whats the fastest way to  bring her here i asked a couple of lawyers and the said 18 months and that is too long. any help or clarifications will be deeply appreciated

If you are married then K-1 is not possible. You would fill out an I-130 and end up with a CR-1 or IR-1 visa (based on how long you are married). ETA: ~12-14 months, although Egypt is a pretty difficult embassy and it may take a bit longer for AP.

Nothing in immigration is fast, unfortunately. How long have you been together? How many times did you meet in person? Are there any red flags (considerable age differences, different religions, etc.)?

we  have been engaged for 3 years before getting married in December and been together for 6. we met a lot of time i used to live in egypt. there is one year difference between us and we are both the same religion the only red flag i can think of is her name is Gehad

Cool. Everything sounds fine there. I'm not sure how the name is an issue (maybe a cultural reference?). Either way, the first step is to file the I-130 packet. Unfortunately, there's just a lot of waiting involved.

Her name won't be a red flag, although I understand why you may think it is---Gehad/Jihad?  She can't help the name she was given at birth, so no worries  

 

There's no other way to bring her any quicker than filing for a spouse visa.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, the name "Gehad" would be pronounced like the word "jihad," which could cause some awkwardness, but shouldn't affect any decisions.

Yeah, I noticed that, but it's only a name and shouldn't be an issue. haha
