All F2A people- I created another forum thread ---

I guess I will posting my stuff there.

But just a little update on my call-- Just talked to a level 1 officer and I asked her to transfer me to a level 2 officer, she said at this time the call volumes are very high I can open up a call back request...I said sure but I asked her what time of the day the volumes are less...and she said mornings. so im going to be calling back in the morning. I did not open up a call back request (because I know they will never call).

Call first thing in the morning, like as soon as they open. When we call them, we usually call then at 8am EST sharp and there are no wait times then (or if any it will be very short).

I don't think your or opus visa type will make a huge difference in processing time. I was on other visa too but I only follow this K1 thread as there are much more people applying from this category so u can see what's going on.

Hey guys I received my EAD/AP combo card today so I’m gonna book a visit home soon. Has anyone travelled on it yet? What kind of information could make them deny you entry (since they’re saying in the info part that it doesn’t guarantee reentry)?

Already went to the Social Security office to apply for a SSN. wait time was ridiculous but once it was my turn they needed passport, birth certificate (no translation needed) and EAD card. They card should be mailed within 2 weeks but most people get it 3-5 days.

I saw some people having problems with the whole maiden name/new married name issue. I applied with my maiden name to avoid this problem but I want to change my last name too... when’s the best time? After greencard is issued?

the best time was during AOS, by filling in your AOS/EAD/AP forms in your married name. since you applied with your maiden name, then im afraid that name change ship has sailed for you for now. your next *free* chance to do a name change will be when you file for naturalization. maybe there is possibility to change between gc receipt and naturalization, but i do not know how and if there is, it will not be free for sure.

Hi Guys,

Our journey ends here and we are approved. We had our AOS interview and it was pretty straight forward. IO just asked questions from I 485 and then asked if we have more pictures. We handed him pictures from our trips and then he said he will approve our case and we will receive GC in about 3-4 weeks. Then he explained how to remove conditions after 1 yr and 9 months. Then he walked us out.

we were so worried and over prepared but IO didnt ask much.

Good luck to everyone.

Congrats 🎉🎉

I'll be going through Hartford too, so hopefully your case is in a similar status despite the system being shite. And at least you won't be worrying about the work permit. Crossing fingers for all.
