K1 Visa Waiting Times for Interview

Hello - I filed my K1 petition at the end of June and it's been about 3 months of waiting time to hear anything back from USICS regarding approval or denial for setting up the visa interview in Brazil. I'm wondering if anyone else experienced this process with Brazil and if they would like to share their experience, wait times, etc. Of course 2 weeks after filing they withdrew the fee and said they received my petition...but now nothing!

There are a few steps before interview, read up on the process on this site. Right now, NOA2 from USCIS is running about 150-something days. The only thing they do fast is cash your check.

Additionally, if you are a June filer, join us in the June filer K1 thread:

I said that in my first response. Right now, June filers are expecting a wait of about 150+ days. If you fill out your timeline, VJ will predict a date for you that you will hear something.

I meant the VJ timeline. Click your login ID in upper right corner and select "my timeline" and fill it out. And if your NOA1 date is in June, post in our thread. If not, you can watch the July thread. Your are probably still about 70 days away from hearing anything.

She is a very late June filer. Late October is VERY unlikely. They have only BARELY started May and are still working end of April.

I will correct my early post - looks like even 4 months is being optimistic now (my how things have changed in even the past 2 months since I checked the stats). It looks like it's closer to 5 months on average now, so 4.5-5.5 months is the most likely timeframe (~mid-November to ~mid-December).

Try 6 year wait

it can be heartbreaking

but spend time together online or in person

try to be patient

and not take your frustratios out on each other

it is difficult when you are waiting and waiting and discouraged

but the end with visa in hand is all worth it
