At the time it sounded right, as did the Japanese internment camps during WWII, or the Chinese exclusion act. They sounded right, and yet they were not only right, they were morally reprehensible.

Enforcing immigration law is not morally reprehensible.  Unless you say it is, then it must be.

Yes, some laws are morally reprehensible. Jim Crow is a good example of a whole set of laws that was wrong and reprehensible.

It is when the large basis for that is based on a long history of racism.

Extremely shameful. And since then we've been in a back and forth tug of war with Mexico over immigration. We want their sweet sweet cheap labor, but don't want them to even think about settling down here longterm.

Our current immigration laws, which allow people to come legally from all over the world, are racist?  Enforcing the law on someone who came here illegally, which DACA recipients did, is not in anyway racist.

They are completely welcome to settle down here long term.  Follow the law and come here legally.  Easy solution.
